"Please come in" she offered with a smile.

"no...I ...I was just in the neighborhood....just stopped by to say hi!" "I'll leave" I need time to process what I just heard.
"It's okay! Come and have some morning coffee"
"right Ed" She hit his elbow slightly to invite me in.

"Yeah ...come in" he exhaled.

"you didn't mention that you met her?" she said as she moved to the kitchen placing coffee mugs on the island while Ed sat opposite me on the sofa.

He didn't mention that he has a girlfriend either...guess he is been hiding a lot from lot of people lately.

"We met recently" he immediately said making up. "it wasn't planned or something, we just bumped into each other. Right Hazel?" he nodded his head towards me asking me to join in.

"yeah...like really...bumped into each other" I sighed a smile.

"oh...good!...at least he got a company in this new city." "I was worried how's he gonna manage until I come" She came with the coffee mugs and sat next to him.

"he managed pretty well actually" I glared at him. The tension could be felt around the room.

"well...no worries anymore. I'm here now...finally"

"here...as in for work?"

"work and Ed" "We work in the same firm...didn't he tell you?" she looked at Ed frowning.

"uh..he did..but he doesn't seem to gather words when it comes to you. Just smiles and blushes." I faked a jovial smile that Ed knew was a taunt.

"Really? That's cute" She placed a hand on his cheek as he plastered a smile in her direction.
"Ed got transferred to the branch here I too applied for transfer. Didn't wanna lose him to the long distance" She rolled her eyes and then winked at him.

"that is adorable." I picked the coffee mug.
"So...how did you two meet? I pushed him for the details of it but you know...smiles and shyness" I sipped.

"glad that he didn't...I get the chance to tell the story that way." She took her coffee in the excitement of narration as Ed's face contorted towards me.
"We met in college. I liked him the moment I saw him but ...he was not in a mood to be involved in a romantic relationship...due to his prior experience." She pursed her lips and I knew what she meant. " but he didn't have any grudges against you Hazel...he always stood by your point of view even when you were not there...he was just not ready to give in to someone at that time. But I was never the one to settle" she grinned. "I befriended him....made him feel secure that he would never regret pouring his heart to me" She firmed her hands over his and looked at him with warmth that made me feel ....longing for it. "then finally...after being just friends till college ...I finally trapped him" they both chuckled at her words. "and since we both worked together...we got chance to be together."

They have known each other for so long...they have a beautiful friendship and they work together and evidently have a good bond. So what am I doing here? What was Ed doing with me? Why did he lie to me?

"Perfect!" I looked at them with a smirk.

"and here we are now...moving in together"

"you're moving in?"

"yeah...and I'm so excited....it's good that he hasn't settled everything yet...vie planned so much and I'm also thinking about a housewarming party for all our colleagues...so much to work on"

Moving in. they are gonna live together from now on. That's the status of their relationship.

"hey....why don't you come to the party"

"no," I said plainly then realized my cold tone "I...I won't be able to"

"she is usually pretty busy with her work...so let's not bother her," said Ed.

Of course, you don't want me wandering around your girlfriend Edward Windsor.

"oh c'mon....you guys know each other from so long...I would love to hear his high school adventure from you. And now that you know of the party I would really be embarrassed if I didn't welcome you" "Please come" she added with a requesting smile.

"uhh...I can't commit...but I'll try to"
