19. Trying to get it all back?

A chance at goodbye? What was I thinking? Why it didn't occur to me that it's gonna be so hard? It is their housewarming party. The house they are living in together and now hosting it together...hands in hands. I now understand what he has with Ester. From the moment she first saw me, she's been nice and sweet, she never acknowledged me as Ed's ex, no sign of jealousy or insecurity. And Ed...He is all smiles around Ester...smile that knows there is a person who loves me unconditionally, no wonder he wasn't ready to give up that. And I am left with GUILT. What have I become? A third person in a relationship.

I was alone on the balcony with my bear when a voice trailed behind me "Getting bored?" asked Ester.

"it's your party...you were supposed to be busy. I smiled. "What'd you wanna talk about?"

"uhh...just wanted to know about Ed during high school...how was he like?"

"umm....he was good 'the popular one' type".I drank the bear as she smiled.

"and how was it like...being the girlfriend of the popular one?"

I didn't expect that question, judging by her expressions she seemed cool asking that question. What should I say?

"it...it was bittersweet...like any other high school romance. Other people were way too involved in our happenings" because of Ed, I smiled not to make it seem like a complaint as she is his girlfriend. "It was innocent and pure and real and so less complicated as I look back at it now" Did I overshare?
