Ed:: 24. Stubborn to let her go.

"Stay away" I yelled pointing at her. She was shocked and confused and a bit of shame evident in her eyes. I didn't even wait to listen to what she was about to say. I panicked after seeing Ester and assumed that Hazel hurt her.

I don't believe that she could do something like that but Ester says she couldn't handle her jealousy and acted out and lately ....the way Hazel is ...I somehow wanted to believe that. But still, a part of me knew she wouldn't do something like that, it must be a mistake or Ester misunderstood. The same part of me that is stubborn to let her go.

"She ...she thinks she still has a hold on you," said Ester while getting bandaged on her forehead.

"No, she doesn't."

"She thinks that I am just a normal girlfriend ...just a few tactics and I can be replaced by her."

"No, you cannot be replaced Ester, you're not just a normal girlfriend. You've been with me for so long" I sat beside her holding her hands. "you've tolerated me for so long ...no one can do that" she chuckled.

I know what Ester is trying to convey, 'just a normal girlfriend' 'I can be replaced', she wants to be assured that she cannot be replaced....a place in my life that cannot be replaced. Not just a girlfriend, but something more.

After 3 years of relationship, I don't blame her for expecting that. But, would I ever think of marrying her if she hadn't asked...or all of Hazel's stuff hadn't happened...would I've ever thought of spending my whole life with her? It's funny, few months with Hazel and I wasn't afraid to spend my whole life with her. But that's a thing of the past and I was young and immature. Ester is my present and I have to act on a strong and mature decision.
