NO ONE'S POV
Lola sat on the couch as she silently watched her mother pacing up and down anxiously wringing her hands. She stood up when she couldn't take it anymore.
"Mom, you are going to wear out that poor rug if you keep pacing up and down like that," she started.
Amira stopped pacing to stare at her daughter wondering how she was going to break her long-kept secret to her daughter. Lola approached her and laid a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Ferracco will be fine so stop worrying," Lola tried to convince her.
Amira stared at her with tears pooling in her dark eyes.
"Jane has been through a lot," she whispered in a voice made hoarse with tears.
"They will be fine. Jane has already gone through enough suffering to last a life time. God wouldn't be that cruel to put her through another ordeal like that when she has just started finding her happiness. She will find her father's lost relatives."
Amira looked up at Lola with new determination set on her face.
"We are going back to the hospital," she announced in a firm voice.
Lola stared at her with a blank look.
"But..we just came from the hospital...," she started to protest but Amira was already dragging her towards the door.
"I just can't sit down and do nothing while Ferracco lays in the hospital on the verge of dying," Amira spoke out as she continued to drag Lola.
Lola gave out a weary sigh.
"There is nothing we can do, mother unless the donor turns up," she protested.
Amira suddenly came to a halt. She stared back at Lola with eyes darkening with tears.

JANE'S POVLuis and l spent the entire morning looking through the directory and calling out my parent's former friends and business clients enquiring after my parent's relatives. I blew out a weary sigh after one of the calls made to my father's friends. Luis looked up at me , his thick eyebrows turned up in enquiry. I shook my head blinking back tears.
It was hopeless. It was like my father had just popped out of another planet. He never talked about his family. The only relative of his that l knew was Aunt Xiomara who passed away eight years ago. Too bad she never married so there were no relatives from her side.
I stared at Ferracco's sleeping face and l felt more tears banking up in my eyes. I collapsed on the nearest chair feeling tired and hopeless. Luis squeezed my hand assuringly.
"Don't give up yet, daughter. We will find the donor,"he said.
My eyes wandered back to Ferracco hoping in my heart that Luis was right this time. Ferracco was still unconscious and l longed to hear his deep velvet voice and see his blue eyes dancing with mischieve as they stared at me with unspoken promises. I took his large hand in mine and squeezed gently silently begging him to be fine.
The door opened and Amira and Lola walked in. I was stunned to see them because it wasn't even thirty minutes when l insisted they go home and rest. The two of them had been with me for the entire night.
"I told you to go home and rest," l scolded both of them.
Amira cast me a small smile which l noticed didn't quite reach her eyes. My sixth sense told me that something was definitely not right. Both of them were avoiding my eyes.
