"I just came back in my father's house! What the fuck is wrong with that?" Someone screamed again.
I'm sitting on my window seat, don't know what I should be doing but I can't block the sound of the two brothers fighting over the welcome-back-home of Jonathan that Jackson can't accept. I don't get why he doesn't want him back here but I just don't want to think about something that I have no clue about. Maybe Jackson had his reasons about not wanting him here and as curious as I was, I will never ask.
The kiss we shared was just a way of making us talk more, nothing more nothing less. He didn't mention it again. Yes, I was sad but I was thankful too. Why would I want him to talk about something that will make me super awkward in front of him?
"You are not welcomed here. I already said that." Jackson screamed back.
"My father welcomed me here. I don't see how I am not welcomed." Said Jonathan with a teasing tone, I could feel the smirk of his lips out of his words.
Than I heard heels rushing by my room, some cursing flew along and when silence followed, I got curious and walked to the door. I slowly opened it and tiptoed to the up of the stairs, looking if anyone was around.
"The same bad habit again."
I jumped in my place, a small gasp escaping my lips and made my hands cover my mouth to stop the scream that wanted to follow.
"They say the curiosity killed the cat. It's gonna get you killed someday." He smirked.
"I-I just heard screaming so I came to see what was going on!" I tried.
"We've been screaming for almost an hour now. You just realized it when we stopped? You are a little late McLeod. You missed the scene." He said and crossed his arms.
His tone was teasing as if he knew why I was here when I didn't know it myself. He knew I was lying but how? He always makes me feel intimidated and feel uncomfortable whenever I am around him.
"Anastasia, come down here!" Miss Robertson called.
Saved by Miss Robertson! Thank God. I looked at him, giving him a small smile before rushing downstairs, thankful for the call. It just save me from a really bizzare situation that you just stand there and wait for anyone else to brake the silence but they are waiting for you to answer their stupid question.
I frowned. It was actually a sigh that came out as a frown and it caught Miss Robertson's attention. She said "is everything okay there?"
"Yeah, everything is great." I lied. Everything is not great. He didn't talk to me like that in awhile and I just got used to him out of the house since we last kiss so I just feel really awkward right now because he just caught me trying to eavesdrop on them for the third time.
"Are you sure?" She pressed, looking straight at me.
"Yeah, I am fine." I said, looking down at the bowl of salade in front of me with a knife laying on the bar. I sat down and started to cut the tomatoes.
"Miss Robertson!" His voice. His shoes were walking closer and just because of his call all of sudden, I cut my finger with the knife in my hand when he stepped in front of the bar, wanting Miss Robertson for some reasons.
I looked down at my finger and saw the red blood finding its way out. I groaned and looked back up at his eyes glued to it.
"You hurt yourself!" He said.
I looked back at Miss Robertson to see that she was making her best job to make herself look like someone who is busy doing something so we feel more comfortable but I actually know that she is dropping her ears just with us.
