The New Girl

{23} Holly the lifesaver, awkward texts, and 'I understand'

Thursday.

 

"Students, please give me your attention." Mr. Jones announced.  We we're having another school meeting thingy.  Chelle and I zoned out untill we heard words that made us sit up alertly.  "Since Halloween is this coming Monday, you get a 3 day weekend." He said.  

Chelle gripped my arm as her eyes widened.  "Oh my sexy Brody.  Usually Halloween is on the weekend so we don't get it off."  I laughed at her new line "oh my sexy Brody". Mr. Jones told us classes will start in a half a hour or so.  

I just thought the 3-day weekend meant we don't have classes on Monday.  But Kirsten yelled as she jogged over to us, "Abi is taking me home tomorrow!  Oh yeah!"  "Lucky bitch." Chelle scoffed.  "Only because we live a couple hours away!" Kirsten defended herself.  I just stared at them though...is everyone going home?  Oh no!  I don't want to have to call my dad.  I'm probaly going to be stuck here with the few people who don't go home.

"Grace, you going home?" Chelle asked picking her nails.  "Umm not sure.  Probably just stay here." I said while shrugging.  "Oh shit.  I would bring you home with me, but we have cousins coming over and everything."  Chelle told me sadly.  Dang, I secretly wished I could come home with her.  

Kirsten, Chelle, and I went back to the girls hall since we had time.  Thanks to Chelle, everyone knows I'm not going home.  Kind of embarassing your Dad scares you.  He's just so serious about everything.  I wish I could stay with my mom in America.  I miss her.

"Girl, I would but I have no room...no joke." 

"I'm not allowed."

"Sorry Gracie...I really want to, but family comes over just like Chelle." 

I could tell they all felt bad, I can't blame them though.  I grinned when Holland told me, "WELL I'M STAYING. PARTY!"  "YES! PARTY!" I exclaimed while hugging her.  Sometimes Holly is a lifesaver.  

Well that problem is solved.

"I'm going to head off to science.  Don't want to be late." Katherine said flinging her backpack over her shoulder.  "I have science too!" I said happily.  Katherine grinned, "Awesome, come on."  We walked out and headed off to class.  

I don't know why but I was in a really good mood today.  One of those days where you wake up, get ready, and feel happy about how you did your hair and makeup.  I always just use chap stick, eyeliner, and mascara.  Unlike Chelle...the makeup freak.  But it looks amazing, if I had really good makeup skills like her- I'd use them for sure.  

"Boyfriend alert." Katherine chuckled.  I blinked my eyes to get out of my thoughts and saw Niall.  Since we had to get to class I quickly ran to him.  "Hey cutie." He chuckled into my hair as I hugged him.  "Mwah!" I said, pecking his cheek, "Got to get to class. See you Nialler."  He stood there playing with his hair and waving as I ran off.  "Oh my god I can tell he really likes you." Katherine whispered.  I just smiled while shrugging playfully.
