Peace, For a Little While

I was cooking eggs and bacon when Luke came running into the kitchen. Apollo was following behind.

"Mama made breakfast," Luke said excitingly. He got on the chair and started eating. Apollo came towards me, hugging me from behind. I smiled and continued cooking. After I finished making the food, I finally joined my small little family. I smiled and started eating.

"How are you feeling, Luke?" I asked, looking up from my food.

"I'm excited. I can't wait until we can go to New York," he said, jumping up and down in his seat. I smiled and looked at Apollo. He was feeding Mar. She was now a year old.

"Are you coming to Apollo?" I asked. He turned his head towards me.

"I'm offended! You think I'm going to let you guys have all the fun," Apollo said, putting his hand over his heart.

"I'm sorry for asking," I replied. I smiled and continued eating.

We were in New York. The demigods were all following Chiron to the nearest mall. They all had their Camp shirts on, talking to each other. Apollo and I were following behind a group of demigods. All of them were girls, and all of them were talking about boys.

"Calypso? Do you think I'm hot?" Apollo said, looking at me with a serious face.

"Why wouldn't," I said, looking back at him. He smiled back at me and grabbed my hand. Out of nowhere, a girl from in front of us turned around and stared at us, confused.

"Are you guy's dating? You guys don't look like you're dating," The girl said, winking at Apollo.

He looked surprised and looked back at me. I grabbed onto him and smiled at the girl who was trying to flirt with him. She ignored me and continued walking with her friends to the nearest store. I turned back to Apollo and let go of him.

"I never heard you ask me to be your girlfriend?" I said, giving him a face that he didn't usually see.

"But you already know that we are a thing. All of Olympus knows," He said, grabbing my hand. I decided to play with him a little and let go of his hand.

"We aren't technically together because you never asked me out," I said, walking a little ahead. He walked quickly next to me and grabbed my hand.

"Calypso, are you going to make me ask you?" He said, a little annoyed.

"Mhmm, I am Apollo. I'll be waiting a long time, I guess" Without saying a word, I went into the store the girls had just entered. Apollo followed behind.

"Calypso, are you going to play this game?" He grabbed my hand and looked at me, "Baby." When he said that I wanted to stop, I wanted to make sure he wanted this. For some reason, this is the first time I am thinking of losing him to someone else.

"Don't "Baby" me Apollo. I don't know why it's hard for you to confirm what we are," I said, walking away from him looking at the clothes in the women's secession. He was slowly following behind, giving me space.

Out of nowhere, a girl with blonde hair came walking straight towards Apollo.
"Hey Apollo, I haven't seen you in so long," The girl said, wrapping her snake-like arms around him. I just stood there and let her. I want to see what he would do. And he looked so surprised to see her, just like he would never see her again.

"Hey Melissa," He said awkwardly. He looked back at me and gave me a shy smile.

"Have a good time Apollo," I was more annoyed by the second, and I wasn't going to see this little girl flirt with Apollo.

I walked out of the store, and right before my eyes, a blinding light appeared, and a few seconds later, Hermes was standing there in casual clothing. I smiled and noticed that he wasn't alone. Next to him was Ares.

"Hey, guys. What are you guys doing here?" I asked as I walked towards them. They both smiled at me and walked towards me.

"Where is your song boy," Ares said, putting his arm around me. Walking into the same store, I just walked out.

"A girl is flirting with him in the store," I told him bluntly. He started poking my arm.

"Someone must be jealous-" I didn't let him finish. "No, I want him to ask me to be his girlfriend." Ares and Hermes were both looking at me with unreadable expressions.

"Then why don't we make him jealous?" Ares said with a smile. I rolled my eyes and looked back at Apollo and the girl he was with. I looked closely and saw that he was arguing with the girl.

"No, I want to have a normal day. Do you remember those?" I asked sarcastically.

I continued walking around the store until I found my way towards the clearance section. I started looking at the shirts and found one that looked really cute. I was about to grab it until I heard someone say something.

"Do you really want to end things with me, Apollo? You told me a few weeks ago that you loved me. Now you want nothing to do with me." I turned my head and saw Melissa behind the corner talking to the one and only Apollo. My Apollo, the person I thought only wanted me to. I dropped the shirt that I had in my hand, and that was when Apollo turned the corner. Once he saw me, his eyes widened, he thought that I wouldn't find out about his lies.

"Apollo, where are you going?" The girl Melissa said, turning the corner.

"Who are you?" She said rudely, looking straight at me. I looked at her with a really mean face.

"I was just leaving-" I turned around and started walking away. "Calypso, wait. You don't understand." He grabbed my hand, but before he could say anything to change my mind, I walked away. I didn't want to hear all the lies he was about to say.
