"Have a good day, Luke" I waved goodbye to my son as I headed out of the school parking lot.
I turned the corner, and suddenly a smartphone appeared in the corner of my eye. The name on the screen was "Apollo." I answered the phone.
"Hey, Calypso. We're needed on Olympus," He told me with little to no emotion.
"Okay, I'll be there soon," I replied quickly before Apollo hung up.
Even though we fixed things, I was slowly trying to trust him. You can't blame me; it will be hard for him to get back in my good graces.
I got to my car and quickly got inside, heading towards the empire state building. Throughout the whole car ride, my camp assistants told me the details of training, building management, and property increase, all of it boring.
I was sitting in my seat on Olympus, Apollo sitting next to me but not holding my hand. This was awkward for him and me, knowing we were still working things out.
"Calypso, How is the camp doing?" Zeus asked, looking at me, hoping for something exciting to happen.
"Nothing has happened since the recent attacks."
Apollo was staring directly at me, making things slightly uncomfortable.
"We are trying to figure out a better way to counter whatever is coming next. I want to ask if the camp can get more instructors from the three kingdoms, the Olympian, Underwater, and Underworld, training our campers to fight and protect themselves," I finished.
Ares, who was late, burst through the meeting room doors. And stood in front of his father.
"I volunteer to work at the camp. I want to see what the big deal of handing over military trainers to some demigod camp," Ares said to his father, looking straight at me with a smile.
Zeus smiled, knowing that something might come of Ares coming to the demigod camp with Apollo and me. "Your request has been approved. You can move to the demigod camp as soon as possible". I turned to Apollo to see his reaction and his face was unfazed.
"Thank you, Ares, for volunteering" I smiled at him. He blushed a little on the way to his set.
The meeting had ended, and Ares was on his way to the demigod camp. I was standing in the empty meeting room, staring at the exit.
"Calypso," Demeter said my name, getting my attention.
"How are you? You seem different?" She was the first to notice my change in attitude.
"Stuff between Apollo and I had come up. We are trying to fix what we have" I was frank with her. I need someone to hear me out, and I trust Demeter.
"What happened, little one?" She asked.
"Apollo had broken up with a girl before getting together with me. Little did I know that they were still texting each other while he was with me," Saying it out loud made it hurt a little more. She was shocked to hear this because Apollo and I had only shown a good relationship in the meetings.
"I'm sorry I have to leave you like this, Demeter, but I have to get to camp and prepare for Ares's arrival."
"Of course, Calypso, good luck," she waved goodbye.
The camp was in celebration of the arrival of a new god. The Cabins were setting up stands for our local swap meet. Every cabin was at least selling or trading things already. I was nervous about Ares coming to the camp. I walked towards the camp entrance, waiting for Ares to appear.
"Calypso!" Ares shouted behind me. I jumped, turning around to face him.
"You scared me, Ares," I said, walking towards him.
"I didn't mean to. I was trying to be more lively," he said with a shy smile.
What is up with his attitude nowadays? He seems different, in a weird, friendly way. Which is not normal something is up with him.
"It's alright, Ares; come on in; I want to show you around the camp before you get to training the campers," I told him.
I walked into the camp again, with Ares not in his armor for once. We were walking and talking, and he looked at everything, taking the camp in. But his statue didn't change; he was still his serious self. The campers were scared of him, keeping their distance. We walked past the cabins and walked towards my cabin/house.
"You will be staying with my family and me," I told him.
"I don't want in intrude on your family's space," he said, embarrassed.
"Don't worry about it, Ares; I'll be glad to have you as a guest in my home," I said, reassuring him that it was okay for him to live with my family and me.
We walked towards the front of my family's cabin. I see Apollo walking out of the house with Mar in his hands.
"Hey, Apollo. Ares has arrived and will be staying in one of our guest rooms," I told him with a shy smile.
He nodded and walked away. I sighed and opened the door, showing Ares the house."What is wrong with you and Apollo," he asked once inside the house.
"I don't want to say, but if you want to know, ask him," I told him.
"If you don't want to tell me, I don't need to know," He said.
I just smiled, mentally thanking him for not making me explain the situation.
Sorry for the long update, but here it is, a new chapter.
