The Breakup I Thought I Would Never Have

I was lying in on aphrodite's bed. I was finally letting all of the emotions from earlier flow out. I looked like a hot mess. Aphrodite was rubbing my back while Artemis was handing me tissues. Apollo hasn't tried talking to me or finding me at Aphrodite's Palace, which he really didn't want me anyway. I continued crying, and Aphrodite was still rubbing my back. All of the other goddesses were trying to make me happy, but it wasn't working. The only thing I wanted to do was be alone with Luke and Mar. After a few minutes, I decided to get up. Everyone was surprised by my sudden mood change.

"I'm going home to my kids. Thank you for everything, Aphrodite and Artemis." I got up and grabbed my things.

"Are you sure you want to go back to the human world, Calypso? Apollo might be at the demigod camp," Aphrodite pointed out.

"I need to make sure my kids are okay," I told her. I waved goodbye to her and the rest of the goddesses and teleported back home.

When I walked into the camp, everyone was staring at me. They all must have heard what had happened. I stood high and made my way to my cabin. The first person I saw was Luke running into my arms. He made me smile, a small smile.
"Luke, it's time for bed. You need to brush your teeth," A voice said from the other room.

I already knew who it was, and I didn't want to see Apollo at the moment. I don't want to hear any lies. But another part of me was happy to hear him finally. That part of me wanted to know why?

"Go on, Luke. It's already late, and you have to wake up early tomorrow for training," I told him one last time before he ran back to the restroom. After a few seconds, I saw him walking out of the bathroom with Mar in his arms.

"Can we please talk Calypso, what you heard was a misunderstanding," Apollo said, walking up to me.

I grabbed Mar out of his hands, walked to her room, and laid her in her crib. She was already sound asleep. Smiled at her and turned off the lights, letting her sleep. Once I was out the door, Apollo was already waiting for me. He had a sad smile on his face.

"We can talk now, Apollo," I said, making my way to the living room.

He followed quietly behind, making sure to give me space. We both sat down facing each other, and I sighed, not knowing what would happen.

"Calypso, that girl in the store was Melissa, my ex-girlfriend," He said bluntly.

"Ex-girlfriend. It didn't seem that way when I was there. She seemed a lot like your girlfriend Apollo," I said, getting pissed off.

"She was mad that I broke up with her. She was trying to get you jealous because she saw us together before walking into the store," He said. I didn't know what to believe if it was him or the things I saw at the store.

"From what I heard, you were still together," I told him. He sighed and took a few deep breaths before he started talking again.

"I broke up with you a few days before our first unofficial date, Calypso. She didn't want to leave me alone, so she tried to find me at my old apartment. But by then, I was already with you. I was only thinking of you when I was with you. No one else," he said, finally getting sad.
"Then why was she all up on you then, and you didn't even push her off of you," I said, getting annoyed.

"I don't care about her, Calypso. She has been stalking me when I'm not in camp, with you or the kids." He said calmly.

"Why didn't you tell me. I would have understood. I wouldn't have taken it the wrong way and thought something was going on with the both of you. Which I did because I didn't know."

"Don't you trust me with that information?" I was getting sad all over again, but I couldn't cry.

"I trust you, Calypso. I didn't want you to know that I had just broken up with someone. I broke up with her for you. It was because I didn't want her the way I wanted you," He said, getting up from the couch.

He was now standing in front of me. I started crying at that point. He was getting closer to me. I was there in his arms, hugging him. I should have just let him explain everything before I left the store.

"Don't you ever scare me like that again," I said, hugging him back?

"I won't, Calypso. The only person I want is you," He said, hugging me even more. I let go of him and got up from the couch.

"Please do ever keep something from me again. I won't be able to take it," I said, heading to the kitchen.

I was trying to stop crying. I didn't want the situation to bother me.

"Calypso?" Apollo said, walking in. I was hiding from him.

"Calypso, let me look at you," he said, grabbing my chin and turning me around. This movement made my heart flutter.

"Are you okay? Are you still upset?" He asked.

"Yes! I thought you were cheating on me, but in reality, you had a crazy ex," I said, pushing his hand away.

"I told you what happened. I don't know why you are still upset".

"I'm upset because this all could have been avoided if you told me," I said, walking back to the living room.

"It won't happen again," He said, hugging me from behind.
"It better not happen again."

I turned around and gave him a hug, which he returned right away. He started kissing me all over my face and neck.
