CHAPTER 25
Ae Cha, Ji-hyun and I went out to get makeovers together. Ji-hyun changed her hair color back to its original.
“It makes me look too girly when it’s lighter. I like the dark look better.” She said.
Ae Cha had to touch up her straightened hair and needed a trim. I cut my hair shoulder, right in between shoulder-length and chin-length. Ae Cha and Ji-hyun claimed it was completely adorable, which made me happy. It made me look older with it straightened and when I wet it, it sprung unexpectedly in wavy curls. After that we went to the dorm to do each other’s nails and make-up.
“Spill it.” Ji-hyun said the moment I opened fuchsia nail polish Ae Cha picked out.
I stopped and looked up at her.
“What are you talking about?” But my smile gave away everything.
“You’ve been wanting to tell us something ever since we picked you up from the apartment building.” Ae Cha said.
I pulled her right hand towards me and started on her thumb nail.
“Ok, ok, ok… What I wanted to tell you guys… is that…”
“Stop stalling!” Ji-hyun snapped.
“I’m in a relationship.” I gushed.
“What?” Ae Cha shrieked.
I had to hold her hand still.
“I have a boyfriend.” I rephrased it.
“You mean… You told him? Changmin, I mean. You told him how you really feel?” Ji-hyun questioned.
“Well…” I looked away, suddenly feeling awkward and guilty for some reason.
“Ooh!” Ae Cha squealed. “I knew it! I knew you liked him—you talk about him all the time!”
“I’m so proud of you.” Ji-hyun put her hand on my shoulder.
“Well, it’s not exactly with Changmin. He and I… we’re just friends. My boyfriends is…Jaejoong.”
Ji-hyun took her hand off. “What?”
“Oh… The really pretty one?” Ae Cha looked disappointed.
They didn’t seem as happy for me as I thought they would.
“I know it isn’t what you expected, but… Changmin and I just aren’t going anywhere. Changmin can’t tell how much I love him and I know I shouldn’t expect him to, but… He’s made it clear that his feelings for me do not include romance.”
“How do you know?” Ji-hyun shook her finger at me.
“I just…do, ok? And the other week, Jaejoong confessed to me. Well, actually I accidentally kissed him in the kitchen, then he confessed to me. We went to the movie together…and we kissed again…and he asked me to be his girlfriend.”
“And you said yes?” Ae Cha asked.
“Of course I said yes. How could I not? If you could’ve just seen him when he asked me. You just can’t refuse a guy like that.”
“I wouldn’t able to refuse him when I look at him normally.” Ae Chas said. “That guy is gorgeous!”
I nodded. “I know. And he loves me so much. He treats me so well. There’s just more possibilities for me and Jaejoong compared to me and Changmin.”
