CHAPTER 26
“Hey, wanna come hang out with my friends and I?” I asked the guys one day as I walked out into the living room with my purse.
“Sure.” Jaejoong and Changmin said at the same time, then, for some odd reason, glared at each other.
Jaejoong stood up to stand next to me as if making a point that I was his. I looked at them strangely, but said nothing. Then I turned my eyes to Junsu, Yoochun, and Yunho.
They looked at each, then nodded and repeated, “Sure.”
I smiled. “Great! Ae Cha and Ji-hyun haven’t met you yet, Yunho. And I’m sure Ae Cha would like an opportunity to apologize to you, Junsu. She still talks about how embarrassed she is about when she yelled at you guys in the store.”
“Actually, she looks kinda hot when she’s mad…” Jaejoong mumbled.
I jabbed him in the stomach with my elbow and he grunted.
“Aish, I was kidding Sun-hi! Just trying to make you jealous.”
I smiled at him. “Well, it worked.”
He kissed my cheek to make up for it and we left.
Ae Cha and Ji-hyun had invited me over to hang out (not our regular monthly thing) because it was a beautiful day outside and they said I needed to get out more.
“DBSK can’t keep you locked up as their maid forever.” Where Ae Cha’s light-hearted words.
To which I replied, “I’m not just their maid, Ae Cha.”
It made me smiled to think of how far I’d come since that night at the club. I barely even knew who DBSK was! Now I was Jaejoong’s girlfriend! And it had only been about three months. They were like the big brothers I never had.
I was the one taking care of them, but everyday they asked me questions like, “Did you eat lunch today?”
“Did you get enough sleep last night?”
“Do you need any help with the dishes?”
“Why don’t you take a break? You look like you need some rest.”
“Do you wanna come with us? You seem a bit lonely lately.”
“No one was mean to you at school today, right? If they are, just tell us and we’ll go make them stop. No one messes with our Sun-hi!”
And everyday—even if I was in the downest of moods—they managed to make me smile. One day I wrote all over my note book, I
The sports field at school was empty and full at the same time. It was empty of people and full of sunshine. Ae Cha and Ji-hyun weren’t there yet. Immediately, Junsu kicked his soccer ball out into the field and chased after it. I suppressed a laugh and looked over Yunho. He nodded as if we’d shared some secret code. I ran up besides Junsu to distract him and Yunho stole his ball.
“Hey!” Junsu squeaked. “That’s my ball!”
“Then come and get it.” Yunho challenged.
Sometimes Junsu acted like a little kids. And sometimes his face turned serious and he wasn’t such a little kid anymore. It was one of the latter times. He smirked and ran at Yunho. In a flash he had the ball back and was juggling it on his knees.
