CHAPTER 32
After rehearsal, I accompanied Junsu, Yoochun, and Changmin to a photo shoot for an MP3 advertisement. I’d never really followed them around for a full day. It was fun to see them working. To watch them in each different environment and see how they reacted to certain things. How their personalities changed in certain circumstances. But I must say, going to that photo shoot might’ve been a mistake. Or maybe not… They did a few group shots first and I laughed at them playing around. Then they hung out in a small lounge area off to the side while Junsu and Yoochun did couple pictures. Then I watched from a distance while Changmin and Junsu and Yoochun and Changmin did their couple shot. I went out and brought them back some lunch for them while Yoochun and Junsu each did individual shots. They took a break to eat and we chatted a bit. Then I went closer to watch Changmin take his individual pictures. I stood there, completely mesmerized by him. Each pose, each expression making him seem more and more attractive to me. Oh, why do you have to be out of my reach, Changmin? Why did I give up on my love for you? Why can’t I be brave enough to tell you the truth now? Then he looked straight at me with a strong, intense gaze, like his eyes were telling something that his mouth could not. I could hear my heart pounding in my ears. When he was finished, I snapped out it and they did some more group photos. Then Yoochun went to the photographer to make a request.
His voice was so low that all I heard was, “…take just one…for fun…”
The photographer glanced at me and nodded. Then Yoochun came over and pulled me into the view of the camera.
“Yoochun, what are you doing?”
“The photographer said we could take a picture with you. Just to keep for ourselves as a memory.”
I smiled. “Oh…”
I stood in the middle and all three of them draped their arms around me so that I felt weighted down.
“3, 2, 1—“ The photographer counted down and took the picture.
It came out nice and I got a printed copy. After that, Yoochun, Junsu, and Changmin were done for the day, so we went home. I cleaned a bit and was making dinner just as Yunho and Jaejoong came home. Jaejoong walked through the kitchen with his head down.
“Hey, Jaejoong.” I greeted. “How was the rest of your day?”
“Fine.” He mumbled, looking up at me like he’d forgotten I was there.
“Oh, good. Dinner’s almost ready… Why do you look so strange?” I asked, noticing he look on his face.
“We ran into your friends today.” Yunho explained, coming up behind me.
I looked back at him and then at Jaejoong. Why would that be a reason for his strange behavior…?
“Hm.” I turned to stove, trying to figure it out in my head.
Yunho was the one who liked Ji-hyun, not Jaejoong. I was sure Ae Cha wasn’t angry again, so she wouldn’t have said something mean like before. Then I remembered that day we all hung out at the school. The day Junsu taught me how to play soccer and we all got caught in the rain. The day we were trapped inside and I could swear Jaejoong kept starring at Ae Cha, even though it looked like he didn’t want to. Something was going on…
I stood in the doorway of Yunho, Jaejoong, and Yoochun’s workroom. Only Yoochun was there and he was letting me listen to him play his key board.
“That sounds so pretty.” I sighed when the song was over. “I wish I could make music like that…”
“Anyone can learn.” Yoochun replied. “Come here, I’ll teach you.”
