Kaito

"Its been three years since the battle." Haruki tells her as we all sat around her.
"Three years I've missed out on, huh?" She looks around. "You guys gotten older." She smiles. "Jirou, I like the cut, you too Mariko." She says. "We were doing things." They looked at each other.
"Amano, you're the same height, Usui, you look more confident." She continues.
"Hey guys, leave the room for a bit, we need to chat." Hide tells us. We all leave the room as Haruki and Hide stay with Reina.
"By the way, why were you two sleeping with each other?" Naito asks me and Kishimoto, we turned around and shushed her.
"Say one word and you'll be dead meat, shit head." I growled at him.

Reina

"What did I miss out on?" I asked Haruki and Hide as they left. "My hair." I touched it.
"Kaito looks different, I thought she-"
"She lived, we had to turn her into a half-ghoul." Hide says. "And sorry, it was to the floor, we had to cut it."
"Huh, she wouldn't allow that."
"She did, she told me before each of the battles we did." Haruki tells me. "She's handling it well, I think."
"Jirou and Mariko went undercover in Oslo, while Usui became a representative for United Front." Hide informs me. "They just got home yesterday."
"Amano was busy teaching the new Quinx we have been making, while Kaito is now third in command."
"All of this happened, when I was gone?" I touched my face.
"Stay in bed." Haruki ushers me as I tried to get up.
"I need to stop Kinuko." I grunt.
"You're still so weak, stop!" Hide yells at me.
"If I wasn't a half-human, I would've beat her already, now my life is going to end soon because of my ill-ridden family." I cried. "I don't know how much longer I have, I need to finish Kinuko, she's alive." I cried out.
"Time?" Hide and Haruki say in shock.
"Don't you forget I was half human." I told them. "Half humans don't live forever!"

"Before I went into a coma, Dr. Chiba said that if I kept using my abilities, it makes my healthy increasingly worse." I revealed. "
And after this battle, I was close to death, minutes away."
"But what about Kinuko, if you can fight, what will happen?" Hide asks.
"I will fight, I'm just going to get stronger, even if
it kills me." I clench my hand.
"There is a way for you to not die this early, right?" Haruki says, his breath scattering.
"Honestly, I don't know."

When I was under a coma, I discovered Kinuko was still alive, she survived being in that cocoon she made to trap me. I'm covered in these marks, for my entire life now, covering my entire body. I talked to my father for the first time in my coma too.
"My daughter." I see him come up to me. He has black hair with grey eyes, looking like a young Tsuneyoshi Washuu. "My sweet Reina." He smiles.
"I don't want to die, we were cursed." I cried out. "You won't, you will live to your fullest, you won't end up like me." He runs his fingers through my hair.
"I miss Mom." I cried.
"I miss her too, it's going to be okay." He hugs me.

"Reina, can you stand or need a wheelchair?" Kishimoto asks me as I can finally leave the hospital.
"I can walk fine on my own." Its been a few weeks since I have awaken. Time has gone fast, I'm slowly rebuilding my strength and health. "Thank you both for picking me up, I know the rest are at a meeting." I thanked Kaito and Kishimoto. I got up and fell on the floor.
"Easy!" They picked me up.
"Use this." Kaito grabs me a cane.
"I'm not a senior citizen." I groaned.
"It's prescribed."
"Fine." I gave in and took it. We leave the hospital and finally reach home, where I sit down.
"You'll be back to work in a few weeks, right now, you need to rebuild your strength and everything." Kishimoto says, pouring me a cup of coffee.
"Thank you." I thanked him and took a sip. "You've gotten better at this." I compliment him. "I had Kaneki's wife teach me when I stayed over there once, great coffee." He says.
"I'm going to rest and nap, and then do something later." I told them.
"Do whatever, we're going to catch up with the meeting in the office." Kaito says as they head in.

I have to rebuild my strength, so I'm going to start working out tonight. I put on some exercise clothes and head down to the downstairs gym. I still have to use that stupid cane.
"My legs aren't that strong." I grunt as it's hard for me to walk right. I drop my cane and I curl up in a ball. "I really left my students all alone." I start to cry. They've gotten older without me, they matured extensively, they were just kids the last time I saw them. Kaito is now more open, everyone is more confident. All this happened, without me. I'm already twenty-five, I need to spend more time with them before I die. It's been a few hours till dinner, I might go rest. I go upstairs and crawl into my bed presumably. I dunno, I'm just really tired.

"We brought some food home." Kaito comes into my room. "You fell asleep in Kishimoto's room." She tells me.
"Oh, I was just so tired i forgot. I come down the stairs and I see Mariko stealing a piece of Amano's steak.
"You guys got me steak?" I smiled.
"It's your favorite food, so we collectively saved money to buy you the best." Hide gives me a plate.
"I had Toyama cook it." He says.
"Well only a few of us can actually have steak, so that's there, and I'm the only human in the squad right now besides Hideyoshi." He wipes his hands.
"My little Michelin Chef." Haruki teases him. "Cut it out, man." He barks as I start to eat.
"I'm so hungry." I groan as I take a piece of my steak and chomp on it. "It's so good." I cried. "I really missed you all."
"Well, Reina, it's not your fault for leaving." Usui says. "We all don't blame you, I consider it as apart of our growth." She takes a sip of her drink. "You're still wearing that eyepatch of yours?" I smirked.
"Yeah, Mutsuki gave me a new one, as a sort of good luck."
"Mutsuki, huh?" I said as I took another piece of steak. The fan is on in the room as it blasts on me and Kaito, her scent comes on me.
"Smells, familiar." I accidentally talked to myself. "Huh." Amano and Mariko look at me funny.
"I dunno I just had some sort of deja vu!" I justified it.
"KEEP EATING, YUKIO, YOU'RE MAKING HER INTO BONES!" Mariko slaps her head. "Still the same as ever." I continued eating my food.

"I lost weight, everything is baggy on me." I tried on one of my pairs of pants. "Is baggy in style now?" I made it up.
"Oh, you're going to work early?" Kaito comes in. "Yeah, I decided to go in."
"You woke up four weeks ago, you shouldn't go to work right after you came home." She gets stern.
"I'm fine, Kaito." I assured her. "I need to get back to work sooner, so everything can be good." I grab my cane and walk out of the room.
"Oh, I forgot something in your room when I slept in there." Kaito rushes in and stuffs something in her bag. I could catch it quickly, it was ghoul medication.
"Oh, when did you start taking that?" I ask.
"It's nothing, Etsu wants me to just be careful, like the mother sod she is." She explains. She's grown, it makes me sad. Hopefully, we can find peace for our future soon.
