Kaito

"I know I look not the strongest, but trust me, I will protect you, so go!" Reina tells me as she puts me down and goes to fight the trafficker that took me. I was mesmerized by her fighting, she was quick, I wanted to be like her. My family was murdered by those same traffickers that took me to become minced meat. I was "special" quality in their eyes, and used as a doll. I owe Reina my life, she has helped me become who I am, even though I'm not a good person. I knew I might die during that mission, I wanted to sort of to pay my debt to her. I just need to awaken to thank her.

I open my eyes and the lights are blaring me. "Rise and shine." Hide welcomes me as I try to get up. "Lay back down, you just got out of surgery hours ago."
"Surgery?" I look confused. "Shima." I wave to him to get his attention, he gets up and looks at me funny. "I know, I look like a mess." I said. "Hows Reina, I want to see her?" I queried.
"In the 1st ward, she just got transferred there." Hide says as my teammates come in.
"KAITO!" They all shout as they huddle around me.
"We brought you snacks, and strawberrys." Usui shows me. She hands me them as I get up.
"I love strawberries." I gushed. "You still look great." Amano smiles.
"Aw, thought you still had a thing for red-haired chicks." Mariko slaps his head.
"We'll go let you rest." Hide tells me.
"Okay." I respond as they left. I noticed I didn't see Jirou around, at all. I wonder where he is.

My right eye is bandaged, probably cause I injured it, I remembered I took a bad fall at the mission. I grabbed the basket of strawberries and popped one in my mouth, although they taste mushy.
"Amano is such a idiot, he picked out the bad strawberries." I spat it out. I get up and I bring the strawberries to Amano.
"These taste mushy, taste them for me." I hand them to him.
"Amano, you idiot." Mariko scolds him as he tastes one.
"Tastes fine to me, hey, can me and Usui have another one?" He asks me.
"Sure, must be that it tastes bad since I woke up." I assumed.
"Also, why are you out of bed?" Usui urges me.
"I feel a bit fine, I do have my UV still in me." I show as I bring it around.

"Everything seems normal, just take a rest from work and you'll be back to normal, you're lucky you're alive." The doctor checks me.
"Although, my tastebuds feel weird, and I only been able to drink water." I told her.
"Patients usually don't eat after a traumatic accident, so it's somewhat normal." She says. I grab my bag and head out of the hospital. My right eye is still bandaged, but it kind of stings still, and I don't know why. Usui said she will pick me up, because the others are at a meeting, and she couldn't attend.
"Found you." She pats my shoulder, which makes me yell.
"Don't do that, you nearly gave me a fucking heart attack!" I yell at her.
"Sorry." She apologizes. "Anyways, how have you been feeling?" She asks me.
"Alright, my right eye has been stinging." I said, clenching my eye.
"That's odd." She says. "I felt the same after my Quinx surgery, although, they just prescribed me paracetamol." She informs me. It makes me freeze.
"Kaito, you okay." She asks me as I run to the nearest train to our house.

"Kaito, slow down." Usui articulates as I take off my shoes and run upstairs.
"I'm just hallucinating, probably." I repeat to myself as I grab scissors to cut off the bandage over my eye. I peel the bandages off and look in the mirror. My right eye is black, with the iris red. I shrieked as I fall back.
"Kaito!" Usui shouts as she runs in the bathroom.
"You okay?" She questions me and looks at me. "Usui, did you know any of this?" I ask her.
"No, they just told me you had your organs replaced, I didn't know that you would turn into a ghoul." She tells me.
"Then, why the hell did they not tell me?" I urge her.
"I don't know." Usui looks down. "Also, Sensei can't wake up." She says quietly. I turn to her and slap her. "What do you mean she can't wake up?"
"She hasn't been able to the last few days, we don't know why."
"I'm sorry." I sniffled. "I just, had a quick reaction." I wipe my tears.
"It's fine, Kaito, I sort of deserved it." She tells me.
