Reina

"How are you feeling today, Miss Washuu?" My doctor asked me as I laid down on the table. "You told me your legs were giving out way more as of late."
"They are, I don't know how to explain it, I've began to use the cane again for some days when they won't give out until the next day." I explained to my doctor, getting back up and standing up. They're working fine today, it's like something comes to me for a period of time, and it triggers something in me.
"Have you been taking in some physical activity, and how did that work?" He asked me as he analyzed my legs. "You do have strong legs, so it must be a nerve problem."
"Or a psychological problem that's for sure, I get these dreams where I'm just standing in my childhood apartment, and I'm with my family, and my dad is there but when he turns around, it's a blank face." I tried to explain my dreams. I never knew what my father looked like, I was only described to by my mother, and my brother and uncle.
"Hayase Washuu was your father, correct?" He asked me, to which I nodded as I sat back down.
"It could be you're under a lot of stress, doubled with the amount of health issues that comes with being a half human." He came down with a diagnosis. "I want you to go home and learn how to control this stress."

"Hey, Matsuri." I went to his office. He was midway through a phone call, but saw me and ended it quickly.
"Reina." He says to me. "I didn't expect you to come to my office again."
"I didn't expect to either, I just wanted to talk, you know, I don't have any other relatives left besides you and Kinuko, and I want to know more about myself, my doctor said I should control my stress, so I want to know about my family."
"Okay, sit." He sighs as I sit down in his chair.
"You've become so nice in the last ten years, you hated me when I first started, I guess I can see why, now." I joked around. "Do you remember that one mission I took and I absolutely bombed it, Marude and your dad had to hold us apart from killing each other."
"You were an idiot too back then." He sighed. "Speaking of Kinuko, frankly I didn't know she existed until she made her presence known, she's a mystery."
"Like how I was confirmed to be a Washuu, didn't my uncle know who my father was?" I asked him.
"He kept it confidential for your safety, after the massacre Furuta had done, there was no file or document that showed your relation to the clan, you were just his niece." He explained it to me, taking his glasses off and wiping his eyes. "I thought the clan would finally die with me, but, it is now going to be you and your brother."
He is really confident in ending the bloodline of the Washuu clan. It kind of makes me feel hesitant in continuing my life, and completing my goal. Does this man really think that we should just completely die out the clan, when there is people that want to live long lives, or desire to?
"I think it's wrong, don't you think?" I stood up, looking at Matsuri. "Me and my brother are changing that path, we're here to stop Kinuko, and live long lives, if we just die, our lives will be meaningless." I said. "I don't have that long, I want to live, why do you have to be so pessimistic with that idea? Not everyone wants to die." I asked him. We were silent for a few minutes, as I turned around and opened the door.
"I have to go now." I told him, slightly turning my head to look at him again.
"I'm sorry, Reina." He said. "I didn't know." I shut the door and walked away from his office.

"I'll never understand why people have to be so down right depressed when they view life." Hide says as I file some paperwork at my desk. "Life is supposed to be very chaotic and unorganized, there is good parts to it and then there is the bad parts."
"People don't really know the truth on it." I replied. "I talked to Matsuri earlier and it got a bit tense, I told him about my health problems as of late."
"Oh yeah, how was the doctor's visit?"
"Went as expected, he asked me if I ever knew what my father looked like, truth is, he died when I was five years old and Haruki was eight." I told him. "Marude told me there aren't really any photos of him in the library."
"That's unfortunate, I really would've liked to know as well." He sighs. "I can ask Usui if she could find it, she knows it like the palm of her hand."
"No it's okay." I assured him. "She's already got a lot on her plate."
"You know, Reina, you've always been someone who had some sort of sadness to you, ever since we crossed paths after the conflict in Tokyo." Hide tells me. "It's like I don't know who you are anymore."
"I say the same to myself every day, would my life be differently if I wasn't a Washuu?" I look at my hand. "My body gives out almost every day, I'm covered in scars and marks that I have to cover every inch of it, and I'm bearing the guilt of being cursed." I stated softly. "I wonder what would be different." I said to myself again as Hide came around my desk, touching my hand, removing the glove that I wore and looking at it. My body hasn't really healed with the marks that I received from my first interaction with Kinuko, doctors concluded and called them dragon marks, since they have patterns.

"The marks on your hand show someone who spent their life tragically, someone who always put others instead of themself, that's what Kaneki had for himself, and so do you." He shared. "Reina, you're someone who needs to take care of yourself better, that's why you slept for three years. We can do this together."
"I've been so unmotivated lately, Hide, I've lost sleep, I haven't ate, I fall down a lot, but it seems like my way of getting up is failure."
"Then failure will help you succeed, then." He told me. "I care for you a lot, Reina." He said to me which made me smile quietly.

"NOW THATS IT, ONE TWO THREE!" Naito shouts at me on the treadmill. "You're going to have the strongest legs in the world if you keep training with me."
"Don't push her too hard, Naito, you're going to make her worse." Usui shakes Naito really fast.
"Oh she's fine, ain't that right, Sensei?" She asked me as I got off.
"My legs are on fire." I told her.
"Ah she's fine."
"Speaking of fine, where is Arita and Kishimoto, I haven't heard of them yet, are they home?" I asked Naito.
"I don't know, who knows they could be fucking around at the main building, besides they've isolated themselves for the last month." She shrugged. "I thought I saw them walking in earlier and went into Arita's room, he practically lives in her room now since Satoru crashed."
"Let's go check." I grinned like a little kid.
We went upstairs and we stood outside of their bedroom like we were cops, trying to overhear what's going on. They were home. A little too home I'll say.
"Naito how about you listen in, I want you to tell me you got the better hearing." I commanded her. She closed in on the door and her face drops and becomes pale. I turn to Usui who has a scared expression.
"Hold on, I'll get them." I assured them as I pushed them away from the door. I knocked on the door and paused for a second. "Yo, Arita, you want to go out?" I asked her. "Usui and Naito are hungry, we can buy you a coffee." I said as she opened the door, fixing her shirt.
"Why are you guys all huddled up at the door?" She asked us.
"We just wanted to see if you wanted to come with, you and Kishimoto?" Usui asked, to where her face dropped.
"Oh hey, Naito!" I heard Kishimoto say as Arita sighs.

"Hey, Reina, Matsuri wants to see you in his office again." Hide says to me, as I was finishing up on the computer.
"Yeah, what for?" I asked.
"It's a secret." He replied, as I sighed and got up. I walked to his office and I see him holding a file while sitting at his desk.
"You needed me?" I asked him.
"I asked one of your squad members, Usui to be exact, to go snooping in one of the libraries here to find you something, and she found me something to give to you." He tells me. I forgot there was another library inside the building, Usui is given keys to some that are confidential because she's high personnel with the United Front. "Take a look." He hands me the file.
I opened it and found many photos of a man with pitch black hair, dark green eyes and in a suit. His eyes were bold, they had a coldness to them somewhat but his pupils made them lively in a way. He had a large smile on him as well, and in one photo he had his investigator jacket on, with an assortment of patches in many different colors. Holy shit.
"That is your father, Reina, that is Hayase Washuu." He reveals to me, as I found another photo of him holding a baby. "That is you as a baby, I visited him when I was young when you were born, although I took that photo for him, we never spoke since that day due to problems." He says as I start to get tense, trying to hold my tears in as I look through the many other photos in there. There was photos of me and Haruki as a baby, there was photos of my father with his relatives and my mother, photos that I thought I would never see.
"Thank you, Matsuri." I said to him quietly. "A piece of me has finally healed.
