'Where were you at the time of the murder?' Detective Connor asked Adam.
'I was on my way home. I came back shortly after the rain stopped and found her this way?' He replied blankly.
'Do you know anyone that might have a reason to kill her?' He continued taking down notes.
'No'
'Did you see anyone suspicious around your property?'
'No' He shook his head.
He'd wanted to scream 'It's all my fault! I killed her!' But he refrained himself from doing so, because it'd only complicate matters.

'That's all for now' Detective Connor rose to his feet 'We'll get back to you once we find her killer, I assure you that' He patted him on his shoulder 'Thanks for your cooperation'
Adam only gave him a nod before he left with the cops who came with him.

Adam slumped on the couch blankly staring off into space.
No one cared anymore, he was all alone now.

In this life you don't get to choose who lives and who dies. Adam never got a chance to.
