Yeonjun is the stronger one right?

Yeonjun found himself being more anxious than usual whenever he stepped out of his apartment, though Soobin had been making sure to fetch him on the weekends. They didn't talk about yeonjun's father or about his abused body anymore but the younger always bought painkillers and supplies to tend his hurt body parts- even the scars. The extra attention was nice, he absorbed every ounce of it.

Much to his dismay, Soobin still attends party every week. Whenever the taller didn't come home from parties, yeonjun missed him more. The only thing that accompanied the often cold, comfortless nights were his own soft breathing noises mixed with sorrow. Thankfully, the white tablets were always there to save his pathetic soul.

Sometimes 3 or 4 tablets managed to calm the wavering nerves but sometimes they were too little of the amount. In that case, yeonjun increased the doses until he felt fine. Of course, the drugs were kept hidden from his lover. It would just burden the other boy with worries, well if he cared enough or maybe he will just find it weird ..which will just lower the chances of Soobin loving him. Their relationship remained the same too. Soobin still treats him the same way as before. Caring when he wanted. Ignoring when he wanted.

Soobin still visits beomgyu.

Sometimes yeonjun caught the younger staring at the polaroid photos that were usually locked up inside the drawer of their bedroom. The song "Universe" could also be heard occasionally in their living room with the same old guitar. Yeonjun never intervened or questioned the younger boy, he just pretended to not see, not to hear, tried not to acknowledge the behavior.

Unfortunately, the attempts failed miserably and all he could feel at those times were the clouded suffocation of his lungs- an ugly burnt-out jealously. But he should understand soobin right?

No, he must. Yeonjun promised soobin that he would be his healing but if he's easily getting swayed by his own emotions, how would that work?

no, yeonjun wouldn't give up that easily.

Not when he's the stronger one.

It was a Sunday morning when Soobin's mom visited the couple.

Yeonjun had skipped his hospital appointment since soobin informed him about the visit earlier, the night before.

"Can you take a day off from your work? Mom's eager to meet you"

Soobin had requested-eyes soft and voice laced with honey sugar.

"oh uh sure, i will phone the manager and let him know then"

So here, Yeonjun stood awkwardly as Soobin's mom offered a hug. Choi Soorin- similar eyes as attractive as his lover, the same dimple painted on the side of the slim cheek and a mole above the nose bridge. After the warm gesture, she flashed a soft smile which yeonjun made sure to return. Meanwhile, Soobin was occupied, taking packages from the woman to load them into their empty fridge- probably some home cooked meals, fresh veggies or fruits.

"So you are Yeonjun ?? You are such a pretty young man. I could see why Soobin love you, child"

Love? How yeonjun wished it could be the reality. Soobin was taking his time in the kitchen while the mom dragged yeonjun by the wrist to sit at the living room.

Honestly, yeonjun was feeling quite nervous to whatever the lady would be talking. She could ask him about his family and get disappointed. She could compare him with soobin's past lover and get disappointed because yeonjun, he's nowhere near as good as the boy with the chocolate brown hair. She'd have thousands of reason to get disappointed and yeonjun feared, at worst, he might get kicked out of the apartment or even out of the blue haired boy's life.

The pink haired boy was unconsciously picking at his nails, head down staring at his lap, when suddenly a hand gently took ahold of both his hands. Startled, yeonjun slowly peaked at a pair of dark eyes glowing with warmth and life. The woman offered him a smile, a genuine smile again.

"Don't pick your nails, it would ruin your pretty hands " she scolded yet sounded gentle.

"Please don't be nervous with me . I won't bite you child"

With a hearty chuckle, she continued.

"I just wanted to visit to know who is the special one that helped my boy through his depression."

Soorin's expression softened but not without a hint of sadness added into her voice.

"You see, he was almost as close to giving up on living after that incident...That awful incident that happened almost two years ago. It was a cruel fate and i thought i was going to lose my son too. I prayed everyday for his well being, tried every possible way to keep him distracted but they were no use, he was blaming himself everyday, everyday...until he met you. You saved him son. You really did. So I'm just here to give my thanks to you. Thank you for saving my kid, yeonjun "

The woman only squeezed his hands as yeonjun just sat there with widened eyes, too dumbstruck to find any words to reply the woman back. He wasn't expecting that after all. Yeonjun should have felt relieved but he was only met with a wave of stress. The woman thought he saved Soobin, when in reality, he was failing to.

Oh she's going to get really disappointed when she knows the truth..
