Indifferent only with me😢

Maithili's POV

As I came out of his room, I asked his PA for where I can meet my colleagues so that I can talk to them about their current surgeries and how they used to work before me, so that I too can adjust for them, I don't want them to feel pressurized by me. He told me to directly go to 4th floor to the dept room, where they will be resting for now. I gave him a small smile and he returned it with big smile. I left from there and reached the dept room when I reached to handle, I heard "She indeed looks like slut, don't you think so.?" "Whatever, She is sexy though" "Don't say that man, she is devil, she kicked me like she saw some football between my legs" "But I heard is really good in her work." "Lets see that too."

OK I should not eavesdrop hear right. So twisted the handle and stepped. I saw everyone flinched and stood from their chairs. "Sorry, I didn't want to eavesdrop but I heard some." Everyone dropped their head maybe guilty , but I don't care. "Its Ok, you can speak anything about me I don't have to prove or correct you, but I won't like it if you spread any fictional rumours about me. " Then I started to take some steps around the room , it was not as big as my previous dept. room, but that's ok, I will be almost be in OT or my cabin. So this doesn't matters much. It was not sophisticated room but not lacking as well. 

There were many patients case study files. One refrigerator was situated at the corner and opened to see many chocolates, water, and snacks, instantly I started to smile at one thing. Everything was labelled by the name, I took one bottle of water which belonged to Meera. "Meera , I hope you don't mind me drinking this bottle of water" but I couldn't erase that smile , when I turned to them, all were staring at me like i am an alien. 

"Yes ma'am , you can drink it." one of the girl among them said. "So , lets introduce each other, okk?" they nodded. 

"So, I am Maithili, 28, I have been a surgeon for 4 years" , then I gulped the water which I was holding. Everyone introduced themselves. Shashank, Julie, Shruti, Pranay, and Meera. They all were juniors and not much experienced. And former chief used to ignore them much and only took Abhishek with him for assistance. Abhishek, was senior them me, 32, who tried to abuse me, he kept his head down to ground out of guilty. 

"So you are saying at 28 you are chief , which should have been gone to our Dr. Abhishek" Shruti raised her voice immediately. at the same time , the door opened and a handsome doctor came in. I guessed it by his white coat, but then I again turned to Shruti and said "What do you wanna say ? " "You seduced some chairperson or Arjun sir for being chief right? " 

I was boiling with anger, I told them not to interfere in my personal space. "Do you think I am slut?" I took a pause and then continued "Then may be I am, I won golden scalpel award this year because I had sex with all the higher department members, and then I had sex with everyone here and got this position, happy now to hear this things." Shruti was shocked with my words. But I was not done "But Shruti, why didn't you had any position till now? you too had sex with Abhishek, and our former chief, but why are you still standing here without even leading one single surgery Shruti" everyone were shocked and snapped to look at Shruti. Were she was shocked looking at me "tch tch tch.. You know what. I have performed 500+ surgeries till now, what do you thing I had sex with my patience in OT and the operation was success? hahhhaha" 

"Anyway, I have some prior appointment so I have to go. We will meet tomorrow and I want some professionalism there." with that I left there, I was satisfied and started to walk to elevator. The man who entered in between my talk started to follow me. I stepped in elevator , and he too did the same I gave him the confused look . He started with smile " Hi, I am Aarav Rathore I am a pediatrician here, Dr. Maithili. " I knew this name but don't remember. "Hello Dr. Aarav." 

Aarav: "Dr. Maithili, I heard many things about you , I will be looking forward to it"

Maithili: "What did you heard Dr. Aarav? I hope not some nonsense like what my juniours have assumed, if yes then I am least interested to entertain you. "

Aarav: shook his hand vigorously in front showing no* "Ohhh no no, Actually I was Min's classmate, and he was your colleague afterwards, he used to talk about you sometime "

Maithili: "Ohhh hhahah Dr. Min is really something, I hope he didn't say anything embarrassing things about me. "

Aarav: "No, he used to admire an respect you and that made me more curious about you,"

Maithili: "I am really glad to hear that Dr. Aarav."

Aarav: "But, After seeing you today, we know each other." 

Maithili: confused* "What? have we met?"

Aarav: "Not met but, have talked on phone calls, I am Arjun Bhai's Cousin brother Aarav, I was in German that time"

I suddenly felt stiff for that, and started to feel awkward. 

Aarav: "Hey, its ok, I didn't want to make you feel awkward or something , I genuinely want to be friend with you but I don't want this topic to get in between us, that's why I said this in out introduction itself."

That instant I felt he is cute, somewhat he resembles like Priya. He is male version of priya , who can read my expression and cheer me up. 

Maithili: "Nahh Its ok, Its past anyway, I have moved on and happy, but I don't want this topic to be known to any other. " To which he shown me sigh on zipping his lips. I didn't know when we reached parking lot. He then asked for coffee , but I rejected saying I am caffeine sensitive and prescribed not to even touch any. To which he pouted. Then he suddenly turned and asked me "How did you so confidently said that Dr. Shruti slept with Dr. Abhishek and Dr. Mishra" then I explained that I was just roaming my eyes and seen one calendar in which someone have wrote her menstrual days and then there was circle on the dates and wrote Abhishek and Mishra's name on same, as she was standing near that table, it was but obvious her table. so conclusion was she was doing that. 

"You are really smart."  Aarav said clutching his stomach while laughing at same time. I too smile widely looking at him. We reached the parking and now I told him that I will be going. He saw my car and praised at my choice, I didn't explain much but just smiled and bid him byy.

When I turned to move toward my car, my eyes met with two dark brown orbs which looked mixed with anger and sadness. But I ignored and just opened the door and ignited and left while he just stood there looking at me. 

Arjun's POV

She was speaking to Aarav so nicely , and that idiot was also laughing maniac, I wanted to just smack on his head. Goddd!!!!

She left now I rushed to car,I want a shower now to clear my thoughts. But found Aarav stood there leaning on my car. 

Arjun: "Why are you here? Aren't you leaving?"

Aarav: "My car is in garage, it broke today while coming."

Arjun: "Okk" We sat in the car and I ignited and moved.

Aarav: "She turned in to woman now. " I turned to look at him all shocked but his was in front not looking at me. 

Aarav: "I told about I know her and she said that she doesn't care to be friendly" I didn't say anything. She is so indifferent only with me, 

Aarav: "She said she has moved on and is happy now" this made me sad, more sad than I thought.

So now Arjun is sad, maybe be feeling something for Maithili. 

By the way , 11 years ago everyone used to call her Mithi as nickname.
