Chapter 18 - Typical relative

Next day morning Arjun woke to see an empty bed. He knew Shalini would have come to their room or else others would suspect them, he thought she should have come after he slept and left the room before he was awake. 

He got out the couch and left for the washroom. He refreshed himself and left downstairs to go to work. He saw Shalini acting to be busy in the kitchen even when she did not know how to cook. 

Arjun: Amma na kelambara. He spoke in a loud voice so Shalini could hear.

Jaya: yeii athuku yenda kathura… iru saptutu aprm pola.

Arjun: illa ma late achu venda

Jaya: athu Ella illa Ella ready saptuta po …shalini ma ivanuku tiffin eduthu vei. She said and made him sit on the dining chair and left from there.

Shalini: Varen ma..

Saying she bought the dishes and arranged them on the table. She served him breakfast but did not dare to look at him even by mistake. She did not want the family members to know anything which was happening between them so she tried to behave normal in front of them. Arjun knew her mind set and did not want to trouble her by initiating a conversation so he kept silent and finished his breakfast and left for the office.

Two days passed just like that. They did not speak to each other even in front of the family members.

Shalini did not even dare to look at his face. Shalini left the room before 

He was awake and returned to the room after knowing he was asleep. 

On the other hand, her silence disturbs Arjun a lot. It was not that she had not given him her reply , it was just a person who was friendly for some days and suddenly avoids you after you had made a mistake. He wanted to at least have a normal friendly conversation with her. He tried to speak to her but she always made sure that she was with any of the family members. Arjun did not even get a single chance to talk to her alone.

The family members were also aware of the weird behavior of them but they did not want to interfere in their personal lives. They thought it might be a small fight as it is Normal between the young couples. They want the couple to solve their problems themselves.

It was Wednesday , Arjun and Vishwa were already left to work. Sruthi was waiting for her husband to pick her up at their home. Her mother-in- law Viji was accompanying him as she was not able to visit Arjun- Shalini’s wedding. They arrived at 11 am ,Sruthi welcomed them and made them sit on the couch.

Viji: Epdi ma iruka?

Sruthi: nala irukan athai

Vinoth: morning sickness Ella parvalaya ma?

Sruthi: enga vino apdiya tha iruku.... Shalini tha ena pathukara..

Hearing Shalini’s name Viji ‘s face changed. And vinoth nodded with a smile.

Viji: Ama veetula enga yaraiyu kano?

Sruthi: appa vu Anna vu office pointanga .. Amma Mela Shalini kuda pesitu irunthanga.

Viji: naga vanthu iruko atha pakama puthu marumaga kuda romba busy pola.

Sruthi: athu Ella illa athau avungaluku niga vanthathu theriyathu irunga na kupdara..Amma..

Jaya was folding the dried clothes and Shalini was helping her when they heard Sruthi’s voice.

Jaya: vanthutanga pola da.. Ni ithu Ella eduthu vechutu va na munadi poran.
