Percy went home to get grounded. For the whole week. And, since she was 20 years old, she had to...

"Get a job?!" Percy asked Shiva, arms in the air, shuddering on the inside, "And why the hell do I need to do that? I'm rolling! I get a steady paycheck from the league. And cash from Talia. Not to mention, I don't know, being the daughter of the god of the ocean?!"

"People will get suspicious on where your money comes from. Also, get experience. And discipline. You might need working experience in a job or something. It'll teach you a lot about life- and the hard work that goes into the money that the league's clients pay us with. Go be a waiter, or get an internship, since you're still in school. Not to mention Winter break starting soon..." Shiva said, totally feeling good about the terrible news she had to deliver.

"Ugh! Fine..." Percy said, dragging out the response. To put it simply, she was not happy about this new development, "I'll google internships or something. Or maybe I could try babysitting?"

"A real working, salary paid job. Not weekend jobs like babysitting. Or I'm telling Talia you're saying no?"

"Babysitting is a real job,", Percy argued, "Besides it probably needs more hard work than a lot of other jobs. Anyways, theres no, no, no need for that, Vivi, no need to tell Talia I'm not doing this, because I totally am!" Percy said, her voice going a pitch higher at the end of her statement.

"Vivi?"

"ShiVA. Vava. Vivi. Get it?"

"No. Get a job. And a life, Percy." Shiva said, before leaving Percy to pout in her room, and mumble about her having an amazing life.

Percy sighed, before reaching for the demi-laptop.

"Lemme go search for a job."

-

Percy looked through the internet, searching for any good, well paying job, or an internship at the very least. And she got one.

And of course... it was a babysitting job. Well... technically, she was going to be a maid. Something she wasn't exactly proud of, but something she knew she needed to do. Especially since the house she was working at belonged to the Batman.

Now, all she had to do was convince Talia to let her...

-

"No. Absolutely not. No chance, Perseus. Do not test me right now, you are not allowed to meet Damian and Batman in civilian form, definitely not when they are looking for you everywhere, as Batman and Robin."

"Don't worry! It won't look like I just came out of nowhere. I go to Timothy's school- we're in the same class. it should be fine, actually, because everybody there thinks I belong to the lower half of Gotham City, even though they're normally nice to me, I can see the 'I am totally better, richer, and cooler than her' look in their eyes. Which is totally judgemental and not cool, by the way."

"I do not approve..." she said, trailing off, "You're going to do it either ways, aren't you?"

"Of course I am! A chance for me to get to know my cousin! Well.. work for my cousin, but same thing!" Percy said, wrinkling her nose. She knew this was the closest she would get to an actual introduction to her only cousin on her mom's side.

"Fine. Be careful. If you mess anything up, I shall come all the way to Gotham City, kill you, revive you, and kill you again. You hear me?"

"Yes sir, ma'am, sir!" Percy saluted, before ending the call, and chuckling loudly, "Talia, man. She loves me. She totally does."

"I doubt it." Shiva said from the sidelines.

"Oh shut it!"

-

Percy was sitting in a fancy looking chair, at a fancy looking table, across an old man wearing a fancy looking suit, whom she presumed was Alfred Pennyworth the only butler, who is also, [not widely] known as Agent A.

He took the resumé she handed him, and the application online, before turning to her.

"Priscilla Jackson? Is that you?"

"Yup. That's me! I'm getting a job here because I need some cash to pay the rent. My mother was helping me out earlier, but she's... MIA right now."

"MIA?"

"Ah... she is missing, presumed dead. I live alone with a roommate. I'm twenty years old, so it's perfectly legal."

"I'm sorry. And you are still in high school? Gotham Academy?"

"Right, yeah. There was a few issues, because I started school late- I was actually homeschooled till four years ago, but since I didn't know much about the curriculum, they put me two years behind my age group. Totally embarrassing. Anyways, I got in on scholarship, so I'm not really well off enough to live without a job just yet, so...here I am. I'm in Timothy's class, actually. Wouldn't have come here, but it was the only offer I got that matched my conditions regarding working hours and pay."

"Noted. Have you any working experience?"

"No... sorry. I did once help a friend out as a waitress, but that's it.", Percy said, thinking back on the time she helped Juniper start her bakery.

"So you can cook?"

"oh yes, I can cook pretty well. Almost any dish, as long as I have a recipe. No seafood though, because I'm allergic."

"Ok. That sounds good, Masters Damian and Richard aren't that fond of seafood either."

"Erm..."

"Well, you resumé is looking good enough for me. I suppose I will just have to hire you." Alfred said with a smile.

He liked Priscilla. She seemed so lively. And earnest. He was sure that she would be a good addition to the Wayne Manor.

"That's great! I got the job!" Percy cheered, before noticing that she was doing so in front of Alfred, flushed from embarrassment, as she quickly stopped and hid her face, "Erm... that did not just happen."

Alfred chuckled lightly, before handing her a contract, which she quickly flipped through and signed.

"..."

"..."

"So... " Percy said, with a slight smirk, "When do I start?"
