Chapter 13

Dalawang linggo kami naglagi nila Mommy at Daddy sa ibang bansa. Though may halo kasing business stuffs ang pinunta namin. Na-enjoy ko pa rin naman and nakakatuwa rin kaya na mas nagiging maalam na rin ako roon. It may not be my first choice to study about these stuffs, I am not closing the possibility I will get to handle our business soon. Maybe.

"May bibilhin ka pa ba, Zallistine?"

Napalingon ako kay Mommy mula sa mga delicacies na sinusuri ko. Kumuha na ako ng dalawang pack at inilagay iyon sa basket na puno na rin pala.

"I'm done na, I guess..."

Nakita ko si Daddy mula sa likod niya na napatingin na rin sa basket na dala-dala ko.

"All for Chase?"

Ngumuso ako. "No naman, half lang! Some are just for their recipes here I'll try to recreate."

Naningkit ang mata ni Daddy.

Tumango-tango naman ako para kumbinsihin sila, and I don't really like to lie e. I had times that I lied but I always wanted to be honest kaya.

Nagkibit-balikat na si Daddy at natawa na lamang sila ni Mommy. Minsan nga I'm curious din e, before talaga they gave me lots of words before entertaining a guy especially kapag nakukwento ko sa kanila lagi 'yung mga boys na nagko-confess sa akin. I never entertained anyone though, they don't interest me because I was too focus on my study.

Now, maybe because they knew Chase's family so my parents let me freely crush on him without the warnings and words they usually gave. Or is it because I'm not that bata na?

See? Chase should take note of that! I'm old enough duh.

Next month pa ang enrollment namin, mahaba-haba pa ang free time ko. College excites me but vacation don't bore me naman so I'm all good whichever.

Narito ako ngayon sa mall, I'm searching a gift for Chase's birthday tomorrow! Of course, hindi naman ako papayag na wala akong gift for him.

Well, wala akong mahanap. He has everything naman kasi, how does he chose his gifts for me I would actually love?

Napahinga ako. We will have birthday lunch tomorrow pa naman. For the past years, we never had the chance to celebrate his birthday together because of his family's plan abroad or reunion.

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad nang may mapansin akong pamilyar na bultong papasok sa restaurant. I gasped when I took cleared view. I'm sure it's Chase!

I walk closer to the restayrant, sa labas lang. Tanaw pa rin naman kung saan ang lamesang pinuntahan niya. My eyes got big when I realized it's his parents together with Ar. Razon! Gosh, I manage to remember her since she bothered my thoughts.

Lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko, I felt nervous and anxious at the same time. Why would she be with them? Hindi naman ako pinagkaitan ng kaalaman para hindi magkaroon ng hint why.

I bit my lip and slightly walk away. I fish out my phone from my purse bag and texted Chase.

Me: You're out somewhere ba?

Chase: Yes. It's nothing important.

Nothing important? With his parents?

I frowned. Saglit lang dahil nag-reply muli siya.

Chase: Why?

Me: Uh, tuloy naman lunch natin tomorrow 'di ba?

Tumuloy na ako maglakad sa parking. I drive my own car naman na, sa malapit lang. I still need to be with someone when the place is far.
