Chapter 22

I stretch my arms as I finished my work for today. Wow, this week is so nakakapagod! Tumayo ako at iniligpit ang ilang things bago ako tuluyang lumabas ng opisina. I was alone today at the office. On regular days, there's actually three more people occupying the room.

"Ingat po, Ar. Liarez..." bati ng ilan habang tinatahak ko ang daan towards the elevator. I smiled at them in return.

I am working here for three months na, right after I passed my board exam. I was thankful that I finished an internship
earlier kaya mas madaling mag-adjust. Though may malaking difference, I'm still happy on what I'm doing now.

Saktong tumunog ang phone ko pagkapasok sa elevator, a smile quickly crept into my lips when I saw his name. I excitedly opened Chase's message.

Chase:
Tell me when you girls are done, I'll pick you up.

I pouted at his message before I typed a reply that agrees.

Ever since we came back here. Chase changed a little... I think?

He has always been thoughtful and caring. Hindi ako sure if because I'm inlove with him kaya nag-iba ang basa ko sa actions niya... O sadyang nag-iba talaga?

He became more e. Lagi niya akong hatid-sundo except when he has hectic schedule. He always brought me flowers, everyday. Kaya nga rin siguro my co-workers think we're together, that I am the girlfriend of their boss! I wish! Hindi ko na rin sila tinama. Why pa hihi. But I also didn't confirm it naman!

May usapan kami today for dinner. I did an early out today, kaya I will get to meet up with my besties pa. Sayang lang, we don't have Kash here. Sana soon, complete na rin kami. Sa org kasi, kami ang naging pinakaclose na apat.

"Hey!" tawag ko sa atensyon nila pagkarating. Sabay silang humarap sa akin. So pretty!

Ngumiti ako ng malawak. Ariha smiled back while Reese smirked a bit. Pero kapag pinsan ko ang kaharap, nagiging sheep! Hmp!

"You guys miss me?" tanong ko nang maupo ako sa bakanteng upuan matapos makipagbeso sa kanila.

"Not much," sagot ni Reese, tinulak ang menu sa akin. We're at the nearest coffee shop. Ako ang nag-suggest, so madali rin akong masusundo ni Chase.

Ariha giggled, "Sakto lang."

Umawang ang labi ko. Really!

I just rolled my eyes and started scanning the menu. Isa-isa kaming pumili ng order bago kami tuluyang nakapagkwentuhan.

"Where's the twins pala?"

"Husband's office," sagot ni Reese. "I didn't bring them here, Ariha has announcement to make."

Sabay kaming lumingon kay Ariha, her cheeks flushed pink. Isa rin talaga why we push through meeting up today because of Ariha's announcement. Gusto niya kasi sabihin sa amin in person which is nice!

Bago pa siya magsalita ay dumating ang order namin, we waited a bit and directed our attention on her once again. She pouted a bit and avoided her gaze. Tinaas niya ang isang kamay.

We simultaneously gasped.

"You're engaged!" I squealed as I saw a ring on her finger.

Sunod-sunod siyang tumango, malawak ang ngiti. Reese was smiling too, ramdam naming dalawa kung gaano ka-happy si Ariha with the smile she's showing.

Buong oras ay naroon lang ang usapan namin, we're already planning or suggesting rather about stuffs in their wedding. I'm so excited for my friend!

"Oh, malapit na raw si Laze." Imporma ni Ariha pagkalipas.
