Chapter 19

I blew air in my cheeks and frustatedly sigh. Tinitigan ko pa muli ang sketch ko bago ako napailing ng ilang ulit. Oh my gosh, what's happening? I can't think of unique model.

"Okay ka lang, Zallistine?"

My brows are slightly furrowed when I look up to Jonathan. Nakangiti ito sa akin. I shook my head and closed my notebook sketchpad. We're currently at the library, kanina pa ako nag-iiscan ng mga previous researches.

"I see," tumango-tango ito. "Do you need help?"

I smiled a little, "I can manage."

Jonathan has always been kind to me, kahit marami rito ang daming sinasabi sa akin. Well, they lessened naman na lalo na at wala na sila ariha at reese here. And I'm too focused to even bother.

Like before, I have a hunch he maybe likes me. But since wala naman siyang say, baka assuming lang ako. I've been receiving confessions from my first year here, though they all went away as years pass by. There's none na noong nag-third year ako 'til now. It's good, I don't like them anyway.

I hope I'm wrong with Jonathan, I consider him a friend.

"How about you ba? You have progress na to your thesis?"

His smile grew wider, delighted by my questions. Or asking? I'm not sure, I don't think it really matters.

"A bit," tumawa siya ng bahagya.

Tumango na lang ako ng kaunti at niligpit ko na ang mga gamit ko. I'm hungry so much na, I've been draining my brain here for hours na kasi.

"I'm going to canteen na ha," paalam ko at tumayo.

"Can I come? Gutom na rin ako,"

"Well, it's fine."

We walked towards the university canteen while talking about our owm research. When we arrived, usual amount of people is seen. Hindi marami pero hindi rin kaunti, this canteen is the nearest to the library. Most of the students prefer the one near the hall.

I just ordered iced coffee when my phone vibrated, agad kong kinuha ito sa aking sling bag. Mabilis akong napangiti, it's Chase! We saw each other, last month pa! We have been so busy.

Balak niyang sunduin ako since I didn't bring my car, but I told him I'll go to him instead. Wala naman me maraming bitbit, it would be fine to go taxi na lang. Katatapos lang ng meeting niya, I don't want to make him more pagod.

Mabilis ako nagsabi kay Jonathan, when he realized I'm going to commute he insisted to send me off.

"It's fine nga lang, hussle pa for you." I reasoned out.

"Hindi," ulit niya. "We're friends, it's no big deal."

My eyebrow instantly raised, I slowly smile in relief and just agreed. Good to know that we think the same way!

Sumakay kami sa car niya, it was the honda civic latest model. Mine's a hatchback, it was easier to drive. At least for me, but when I get a job na I'm planning to buy a pink sports car.

Napunta ang usapan namin sa naging internship ko noong vacation, it's because doon ko pupuntahan si Chase.

"There na siya!" I almost yelled when I saw Chase talking to the company's bodyguard.

Bahagya ko atang nagulat si Jonathan, his forehead creased as he manuevered his car to the side. Kung saan ako pwedeng bumaba.

"Oh, you're meeting... Engr. Fuentes?"

Napalabi ako. Kilala niya pala siya? And I haven't told him pala may purpose, I just mentioned na rito ako pupunta. He didn't ask naman, he's not type of person who pry. Baka hindi kami friends if he is.
