I quickly gathered my things right after the teacher dismisses us. Nagmamadali akong lumabas para maaga ako makauwi, nagsabi ako kay kuya Gary na maaga niya akong sunduin ngayon dahil kailangan ko pa muna magluto sa bahay.
I forgot to ask Chase what time siya umaalis! Baka hindi ko na siya maabutan mamaya, it's so nakakahiya naman if sisilipin ko muna siya roon. Baka magkita kami and I wasn't bringing any food pa kaya I'll just try my luck later.
Mabilis na tinakbo ko kaagad ang labasan ng school kung saan ko pinapuwesto si kuya Gary para madali lang kaming makausad kaysa papasok pa siya sa loob. Our school is located not far from a famous university kaya maraming mga sasakyan. I can't order from mom's restaurant dahil magtataka iyon. Isa pa, I told Chase na I'll be the one to cook e.
"Yaya, please prepare the pasta na!" agad na bilin ko pagkapasok ko sa bahay.
Dali-dali akong pumanhik sa aking kwarto at nagpalit ng damit. I filled my closet with ready-to-wear outfits so I don't have to search everytime I need to go somewhere. I chose to wear a strap v-neck casual knee-length dress with a simple white shirt inside. Napagawi ang tingin ko sa orasan, lumipas na agad ang kinse minutos. Time is so fast!
Mabilis akong bumaba para dumeretso sa kusina. I decided to make him a Chicken Aglia e Olio, it's one of the quickest pasta dish to cook. Yaya knows how to cook a perfect pasta naman so mabilis na lang dahil ibinilin ko na sa kanya ito. I sauté the small slices of chicken in olive oil before putting the pasta again and poured the other ingredients. Hindi naman matagal at mahirap gawin, it's my go-to snack before. Mabilis kong tinikman para masiguro ang lasa.
I smiled. This is good!
After doing all I need to do, I headed outside and told kuya Gary the same place yesterday. Deep inside, kinakabahan ako baka wala na siya roon. Kung ikukumpara kahapon, I am one hour late! Sana mas maraming siyang gagawin today para maabutan ko siya.
All my excitement vanished when I didn't see a glimpse of him from the outside. I slowly went down the car and enter the coffee shop, pinagmasdan ko ang mga taong naroroon sa lamesa namin kahapon. Sadly, he's not with them.
"Looking for me?"
A smile instantly formed on my lips when I heard that familiar voice. Bumaling ako kung saan ang direksyon ng boses.
He's still here!
"Hi!" bati ko.
Lumapit ako sa kanyang lamesa na nasa gilid ko lamang pala.
"You went home first?" tanong niya nang mapansin ang suot ko.
Tumango ako sa kanya at inilahad ang paper bag. Saglit niyang binalingan iyon bago bumalik ang tingin sa akin.
"I cooked that pa, saka ano..." saglit akong napatiligil para mag-isip nang idadahilan. Wala ako maisip. "Are you here na ba kanina pa?" I asked instead.
"Yeah, thought you're not coming..." baliwalang sagot niya.
I'm thinking of him waiting for me pa naman pero he looks unbothered. Tumango na lamang ako sa kanya bago umupo sa harapan niya. Sinimulan niya namang pansinin ang pagkaing niluto ko. I don't know why but I started to feel anxious, hindi naman ako ganito.
I am used to cook that food naman, so I don't get why do I need to worry? Well, medyo nagmadali ako pero I still assure the taste of it.
His face remain the same habang tinitikman ang niluto ko. His jaw moved dominantly as he munch after one bite. I intently watch him savor the food until his head suddenly turned to me.
Bahagya akong napalunok.
"Uh, Is it good?" I shyly asked. "Nagmadali kase ako and-"
"It is," he said before I babble reasons. He quickly wipe his mouth with a tissue, "You cook?"
