Whew, this is the longest chapter so far...a little bit over 5,000 words (excluding author's notes)

Also, we get some new characters! About 3 main ones (kind of) to be exact. I wasn't entirely sure if I should add them to begin with but hey, you always need a couple of side characters. Even if you don't know what you're gonna do with them! :)

I hope you enjoy it!

[Ratchet]

To say that the city was amazing was an understatement.

Ratchet has no idea how he forgot something this big, this beautiful, this cool! He followed close behind Kaden and Phoebe, who talked animatedly, occasionally looking back to make sure he was still following them. Kaden looked behind himself, chuckling as he saw Ratchet look up and around at his surroundings, "What do you think of the city?"

Before watching a ship fly by overhead, Ratchet turned to look at him. "I-It's amazing! I can't believe I forgot about this!" He said, "It's so cool~". He heard Phoebe chuckle quietly, he started smiling at the noise. He looked up once more, watching as the sunlight made the tall, pointed buildings shine beautifully. Ships whizzing by every so often just overhead. Rails and lights lit up the ground below. Casting a soft, yellow light on the ground, a sign that the sun was setting.

It felt like he never experienced this before. He felt like he should be elated to be here. But he knows that he has lived here, right? How else was he here?

Shaking his head, he quickened his pace a little bit to keep up with Kaden and Phoebe, watching them idly chat with each other. He looked around at all the different people around him, big and small. Children laughed as they chased each other, carefully weaving through some crowds, while others stood happily by their parents. He smiled at his observations, only stopping when Phoebe and Kaden stopped suddenly in front of him. He looked up, seeing a medium-sized, two-story house. Nothing fancy, but it sure looked cozy.

Kaden entered a passcode by the door, opening it to let Phoebe inside, he gestured for Ratchet to enter, "C'mon, Phoebe is eager to start dinner, I don't think you wanna miss that!" While the man obviously tried to ease his nerves a bit, he couldn't help but let the anxiety get to him a little bit.

He could do this, it was nothing. He'll be fine. Nothing out of the ordinary!

Kaden closed the door behind them as he walked in, staring up at the high ceiling above him, intricate gear-like designs etched into the wood. It seemed that they were currently in the walkway leading into the living room, which was cozy and spacious. He felt a gentle hand rest upon his upper back, jumping a bit at the touch. Kaden chuckled, "How about I give you a little tour while Phoebe starts dinner?" Ratchet nodded silently. He had to admit that he was a bit curious to see where he would be staying for the time being.

Kaden led him up the stairs, which were just ahead of them. Once they arrived at the top, there were two hallways to the left and the right. Kaden gestured to the left hallway, "Here we have our offices for when we work at home." he said simply, turning to the right and bringing Ratchet down the hallway with him, "To the left, we have a bathroom, and to the right, we have our two guest bedrooms, you'll be using the first one to the right." Ratchet nodded in understanding, Kaden continued, "At the end of the hall is our room. That is just about it for upstairs. He turned around, eyes lighting up with happiness. "I know something you'd like!"
