"Thank you so much for taking on all of them," Brett said, relieved to be getting some time alone with his boyfriend. It had been a hectic few months with a lot of work. For some crazy reason they had decided to look into how they could make a tour work on top of everything they already had going. When Eddy suggested sending the kids off to stay with May and Ray for a weekend, he simply couldn't say no. He was exhausted.
"Of course, Brett. Don't worry about it," May smiled back at him, picking up little Aiden - though he wasn't really that little anymore. Benjamin and Aiden were approaching nine months of age soon, which was insane to think about. The twins had been insanely early when it came to learning how to walk too, so both of them were already stumbling around.
"There's diapers in the bag with everything needed for that, Elise has sharkie and her violin, they've got an extra set of clothes..."
"I know, I know, it's the same as every time," May interrupted him gently, kissing a sleepy Aiden on his forehead. He looked about two minutes from passing out. "We've got this. Go have fun with your boyfriend."
"If there is anything, just call, okay?" Brett told her, but looked past her at Elise who was already helping herself to some cookies on the living room table. They really needed to teach her to ask first. "We're probably just gonna lay on the couch anyway."
"Yes yes, go now," May chuckled, rocking Aiden a bit. He was about to fall asleep.
"Okay, okay. Thank you again," Brett said, letting his gaze swipe over all three of his kids. He really hoped they'd be okay with May alone. She had been complaining about back pain for a bit, so he wasn't too happy about putting her through it no matter yow many times she said it was fine. At least Ray would be home in the evening.
"Everyone wanna say bye-bye to baba?" May asked the two boys, one who were clinging to her leg and one on her arm. Behind her, Elise came running.
"Bye-bye Baba!" she said happily, excited to get to hang out with auntie and uncle when he came home. She ran into baba's arms for a hug, and Brett hugged her back tightly.
"Bye-bye princess, my precious angel," Brett said softly, making her giggle. "You gotta help Auntie May with taking care of your brothers, okay?"
"Okay baba" Elise grinned, looking back up at May for confirmation.
"You know so well how to take care of them, so you really gotta help me," May nodded, smiling down at her. Aiden had already fallen asleep on her shoulder, and Benjamin looked like he was about to whine for a nap soon too. "First thing is to make sure they get a nap. Wanna help with that?"
"Yeahhhh!!" Elise shrieked happily, clapping her hands a bit before walking over to Benjamin to take his hand so they could go to the travel cribs they had set up for them.
"I'll see you on Monday, then," Brett said with a small smile, heading out to leave them to it. He just hoped everything would be okay. It was difficult to let them go when he was so used to seeing them all the time.
