"Hi there, Elise! How are you?" the lady working at the daycare asked her with a huge smile. Elise of course, decided that the safest place was behind baba's leg and holding onto it for dear life. She looked up at baba, waiting for his reaction to the stranger before even considering interacting with her.

"Sorry, she's a bit shy. We haven't seen too much new people before," Brett hummed, offering his hand. "I'm Brett, I think we spoke on the phone..?"

"Yes, I'm Camilla. Nice to finally meet you in person," the daycare lady said with a smile. "Did you recieve the brochure we sent you?"

"Yes, we did," Brett confirmed, pulling it out of his pocket. "Tour and some time getting used to you guys for the first few days, yeah?"

"Yep, that's it summed up in short! And it's important you stress the positives with going to daycare on the way, you know? Since you are her safe person," Camilla added, smiling down at Elise who was hiding slightly less behind baba's leg when he saw that baba had no problems talking to him.

"I understand, yeah. Makes sense," Brett nodded, looking down at Elise. "You excited for daycare, princess? Wanna go see if they have some nice toys?"

"Babaa..." Elise whined, lifting her arms up to have him hold her. Brett instead crouched down to be on her level.

"You sure you don't wanna walk? I'll hold your hand if you want?" Brett asked, but her shaking her head and the way her lip quivered made him just pick her like she wanted. "Okay, baby, let's go look then. Let's go with Camilla."

Camilla showed them around the building, to the play room, the eating room, the bathrooms and the napping room. Brett thought the place looked nicer in real life than in the pictures, honestly.

"Baba, sha-kie!" Elise said, pointing at a plastic shark toy on the floor. Brett smiled as this was the first time she had shown interest in any toy that was there.

"Yeah! It's just like your shark, isn't it?" Brett hummed, squatting down so she could look at it without feeling like he was far away. She held onto his hand and picked it up with the other to show him.

"Sha-kie!" she repeated before poking baba's knee with it, making sounds that she probably assumed were the sounds sharks make while eating but that really sounded like a choking cat.

"Ahh, don't let it eat meee!" Brett chuckled, making his little princess giggle and qalk into him for a hug.

"Maybe you would like to meet some of your new friends now, Elise?" Camilla suggested softly, and Elise looked at her when she said her name but didn't say anything. Just turned back to baba, expecting him to reply.

"Let's go meet some new friends, Li-Li," Brett hummed, kissing her cheek and standing up. She held onto his hand with both of hers, movong closer to him and hugging his leg again. "It's gonna be fun, come on"
