Drew’s POV
If I could wish for anything right now, it would be for time to rewind and for Derek to not have caught us at this moment. We were so shock that we couldn’t even move from our awkward position of Cassie on top of me. Derek just stood there with an expression that even after years of living with him I couldn’t even read. If I had to say what his expression would be, I’d say pissed.
“Chris.” Derek called. I saw Chris look at him worriedly. “Get your friend.” He demanded staying calm the whole time, but I knew he wanted to blow his top.
Chris walked towards us and grabbed Cassie's arm helping her stand. The look on her face was definitely on display for everyone to see, she looked terrified not only for herself, but for us. And it was hurting me to know that at even at a time like this she was still able to think about someone besides herself.
“Drew?” She said quietly furrowing her eyebrows. Her look killed me.
I wanted to stay strong for her. But how can I pretend to be fine with it when I was terrified myself. “Shh. Shh. It’ll be ok.” I whispered to her before she got up.
I sat up still on the ground with my eyes still glued on Derek. I rubbed my face with my hands not ready for what could possibly be. All I knew that it wasn't going to go well. I was scared for not only my punishment, but for Cassie's as well.
“Drew. Let’s talk.” Derek said sternly, but still managed to show a serene vibe. With no hesitation, I got up and followed him inside the house. Of course. Did I even have a choice?
Derek walked all the way to the living room and stopped. He didn’t say anything right away, he just let out a loud sigh before turning to me, “What the hell was that?” He asked basically yelling at me. Again, very much expected.
“W-we fell.” I stuttered. Stupid stuttering.
“And kissed?” He pointed out. “What the heck was that all about?” He growled with a pointed look to match.
“Was an accident.” I clarified nervously. My brother was definitely worked up about something and I wasn’t sure if it was because of the kiss or about something else.
He pinched the bridge of his nose before saying anything else. “Drew do you think I’m stupid?” He questioned.
“No sir.” I shook my head looking at the ground. Whenever Derek was mad and was terrifying, I had the tendency to call him ‘sir’ at times.
“Drew.” He paused taking a step towards me. “I want the truth.” He finished looking me dead straight in the eyes.
