Drew's POV

I followed Derek into the living room. I was expecting him to be furious with me since I deliberately disobeyed him, but to me it was all worth it. I could care less about what he had to say because from what I know, he was the one who lied to me. Knowing the truth about how Cassie felt was all worth whatever Derek had in store for me. If he was angry, so was I. He completely lied to me about Cassie and the worst part, didn't even care about how any of us would feel.

"Are you fucking deaf?" I told you to stay away from her!" Derek boiled with anger.

"Are you?" I retorted carelessly. His eyes widened at my disrespect. "Because I don't remember saying those things about Cassie." I pointed.

He said nothing, but just looked at me with guilt.

I can't believe he is actually doing this to me right now. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I blurted. "You knew how I felt about her too." I added.

"Drew." Derek stopped my rampage. "I'm still your older brother and expect you to show respect." He said calmly, while I on the other hand was angry with his actions.

"Respect?" I raised an eyebrow. "You want to talk about respect? Ok. You kidnapped two hostages. Expected me to be okay with it. And you want respect?" My heart was racing and I was talking quickly until I started to run out of breath.

"Drew." Derek said again. "Stay away from her or I will have to hurt her." He tried to threaten.

As if you don't know me by now or how I feel about her.

I stood straight, my body as stiff as rocks. "If you're going to hurt her, you have to go through me first." I stated. My brother would never hurt me. Right?

"Drew. Don't." He threatened. I think he was doing it out of my benefit. He was trying to protect me.

But I was no longer afraid.

"No." I protested. "Why did you do it?" I demanded for an answer. No more games. I basically go in circles with Derek and talking about this topic was pointless, but I figured there's a reason for everything.

"Drew." Derek said trying to change the subject.

"No Derek." I concluded. "I'm tired of your excuses. Why'd you do it?" I asked again.

"Drew, I'm trying to protect you." He stated calmly.

"Bullshit." I stated. Protect? He wanted to protect me? Kidnapping two hostages was no sign of protection. "You want to protect me? You already got me caught in the middle with this kidnapping." I stated. This was not protecting me.

I have never talked to Derek this way and let me tell you it felt good. I was finally gaining the confidence to say things I couldn't see myself saying weeks ago.

"Drew." He calmly said again. If he's asking me to forget about this, he's crazy.

"Derek why'd you do it?" I questioned. I needed an answer. Derek looked like he was about to spill. "Why'd you kidnap them?" I pushed. Derek looked away and was breathing deeply. "Derek!" I called waiting for him to say something.

Bullseye.

"Because you killed her parents." Derek spitted out in annoyance to how pushy I was. Once he said those words, he was disappointed in himself for saying it. "Drew you killed her parents." He whispered rubbing his hands on his eyes and then ran his hands through his hair.
