Drew's POV
Still trying to process everything, I don't know if I can still handle, let alone accept the truth. I had many questions that were left unanswered, but I doubt Derek wanted to tell me. He could barely look me in the eye. Frankly, I didn't want to hear anything else.
The biggest decision I had to make now was if I was going to tell Cassie or not. Every time I thought about her or what happened between us, all I can think about is that fact that I'm the reason she was kidnapped, why her parents died, why she's in the foster care.
I hated myself. Not nearly as much as I hated Derek for putting me in this situation.
"Derek." I called when I noticed him walking by. He stopped and turned towards me, "I'm going to tell Cassie." I informed.
He looked straight at me,"no one's stopping you." He shrugged his shoulders carelessly.
"I want you to be there when I do." I stated. His eyes widened in surprise. "It's the least you can do." I glared at him waiting for him to agree.
"Fine." Derek surrendered, rolling his eyes.
I nodded.
We walked to Cassie's room, each step and each breath made me wonder if I was doing the right thing.
We stood in front of the door, Derek waited for me to open it. I couldn't bring myself to do it.
It was now or never.
Derek grew impatient and took control. When we entered the room, I looked at Cassie and couldn't look at her again. I looked up at Derek shyly, he rolled his eyes and knew I was having a hard time. "Where's Chris?" Derek asked .
"What's going on?" I looked up to see Chris walking into the room stretching his arms.
Derek took initiative, "Drew has something he wants to say.".I hit him in the stomach.
"We have something to say." I corrected. Although I was the one that wanted to say it, it was his fault for all of this.
"What's going on?" I heard Cassie ask, but I didn't have the guts look up at her.
"Drew?" I recognized Chris' voice.
"Drew." Derek whispered.
I looked up to see everyone staring at me. Cassie's worried expression began to pierce through me. I couldn't do this. I looked around, felt nauseous and left the room.
