For the first time in forever, I wasn't woken up by yelling or chores. I woken up to sun rays forcing itself into the room through the windows. I groaned in dissatisfaction and covered my eyes with my hands, but it was no use.
"Finally you're awake." Chris said loud enough I could hear the grin on that childish face of his.
I closed my eyes and sighed in relief. "I was finally able to sleep in." I smiled to myself and then turned to see Chris standing at the door of the bathroom. "Ew. Put some clothes on." I complained childishly. His hair was damp and only had a towel wrapped around his waist which showed he took a shower.
"I'm sexy and you know it." Chris smirked referencing to the song.
"Eh. I've seen better." I teased. "Now put a shirt on." I said looking away and throwing a pillow in his direction.
"Fine. But you should get dressed." He said picking up the pillow. "I want lunch." He said walking to his suitcase.
"Alrighty then." I said getting out of bed. "Give me a couple minutes."
I walked into the bathroom and decided I would take a shower, but not wet my hair since it was still clean. After my quick shower, I did a light makeup look, which consisted of concealer, eyeliner, and mascara. For my outfit, I kept it casual with a pair acid wash skinny jeans, a red muscle tank and my black ballet flats. And as for my hair, I just tied it into a high ponytail.
"Ready to go?" Chris asked as I just exited the bathroom.
"Yeah." I smiled. "Let me just grab my phone." I mentioned looking around for my phone to find it on the nightstand, which I thought was, weird since I could've sworn I left it on the dresser last night. I just shrugged the thought. "Where are we eating?" I asked Chris who was, walking to the front door.
"There's a little restaurant across the street, I thought maybe we can try it." He suggested unlocking the door.
"Hmm, Sounds good." I muttered letting my stomach growl.
"Someone's hungry." Chris teases closing the door behind him.
"Like your not." I counter rolling my eyes.
"Touché." Chris says behind me and without even having to look, I can tell he was looking at me with narrowed eyes.
As soon as arrived to the cafe, there was only a few people inside, mostly were young adults and a few children. We sat by the window, since the host sat us there.
"Can I get your order?" A young male waiter asked me.
"Can I get the Grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing and a glass of lemon water please?" I countered folding up my menu and handing it to the waiter.
"Of course." He smiles taking the menu from me. "And for you?" He gestures towards Chris.
"I'll have the smoke barbecue burger with a side of fries and a glass of rootbeer." Chris replies returning the menu.
"Sure thing." The waiter said while he finishes jotting down the order. "Your food will be ready soon." He smiled before leaving.
Once the waiter was out of eyesight, my phone fan to vibrate in my pocket. I took it out to see I received a text from Cody, I viewed the message and it read:
(Sender: Cody
Where the hell are you?)
I decided not to respond since it'll be no use if I did anyway. I was on the other side of the nation, it wouldn't matter if he was wondering where I am.
