Jessie's Girl (Chapter 9)

Rays POV:

"That will be $21.99 please" the cashier asked, I take out my wallet and give them a 20 and 5 dollar note, "Keep the change, have a good day!" I smile. I look around to find a seat near the door and I sit down on it. I can't believe me and Vee kissed before, I've wanted that since I met her, but the timing has never been right to do so, it took me by surprise but in a pleasant way.  But what about Mikey? Hes so depressed Gerard has had to hide anything that will get him high and drunk. I'm so stupid, I let myself down again, I let the guys down, I let my brothers down. I take a sip of my coffee and feel a thud followed by a slight rustle of bags, I look up to see Velvet. "Where have you been? you've been gone ages!" I scoff. "Hello to you too. and god you sounded like me dad then. Plus you know I was shopping!" She pouts. She puts her bags under the table. "What did you get then?" I question. "Things, also I got eyeliner for Frank,Mikey and Gerard because they ran out and have been using mine. Cheeky sods! And a new hoop for Bobs piercing in his lip because his looks rank,I got a new lanyard so hopefully I'm allowed to wear this instead of the other ones. OH and I got a couple of lipsticks." She grins. "You've had a good shopping spree then huh? but you've got too many bags for just that stuff, what else you got?" I push, she looks down at her hands. "I've got something else but I realllllyyyy hope you don't want to use them." She blushes. I sit back and scratch my head. "You can tell me anything, what did you get?" I ask again. "Pads and tampons" She hisses quietly. "Oh" I giggle. "Anyway, I got everyone coffee, we need to get going, we're meeting everyone at the stadium, we need to jump in a taxi, is that ok?"
"Yeah of course, let me go get a drink quickly." She smiles at me. "No need! I got you a cookie and cream frappechino. Thats your favourite, right?" Her face lights up and a vast smile spreads across her face, her lipgloss shining in the light. "Yeah! Thank you Ray!! Oh that reminds me I got you something to say thank you for today. Close your eyes!" She rummages through her bags and then puts a small box in my hand. "Open it!" She grins delightfully. I carefully unwrap the bow and open the box carefully to reveal loads of thick guitar picks, all with different patterns and all my favourite band names on- some signed too. "Holy shit, thank you so much Vee! How'd you get hold of these!" I boom with excitement. She taps her nose and pulls me in for a hug. "Thank you for an amazing day!" She mummers. I put my chin on her head. "You're welcome sugar, now come on we're definitely going to be late now!" I whisper begrudgingly, stepping away from the warm hug. I put my box of picks in my pocket and grab the coffees. Velvet follows suit and picks up her bag and sashays out of the shop. I watch for a couple of seconds before running after her. We stop at the taxi. "TAAXXIII" She yells and then looks at me giggles. A few minutes later we're in the taxi,on the way towards the venue.
