Is Everything Okay?

Wei Ying POV

The Next Morning...

I was tossing and turning and could barely keep my eyes shut in bed. Lan Zhan's been sleeping next to me all night. He looks so peaceful and adorable when he's asleep, and I can't help but smile. I try my best to sit up in bed without waking him and being successful, I sneak away. I get a weird feeling in my stomach, and I suddenly felt so nauseous but having Lan Zhan worry was not up for debate.

Trying my best to stay quiet, I begin to maybe meditate my way through this annoyance, but it wasn't working. I just kept feeling sicker and sicker.

"Shit." I run towards the exit of the Jingshi and before I know it, I'm puking my guts out. The taste is disgusting and unfortunately, I wake up my sleeping husband.

"Wei Ying, are you okay?" I could see the worried look he had. I felt bad for waking him.

"I'm okay, I've been feeling pretty nauseous, and a bit of an upset stomach, but it's fine. Please go back to sleep." I try smiling but then I start throwing up again.

Damn it. I don't want to feel like this...

I felt Lan Zhan grab my hair to keep from getting into my vomit. I felt absolutely terrible.

"Why don't we go inside and get you cleaned up. You might have a fever." We walked inside together and feeling weak, I had him help me clean myself and the mess outside. I didn't bother arguing with him to let me do this alone because I know he would insist.

"I'm okay Lan Zhan, honest!" Wei Wuxian tried doing a little dance to convince him.

"You should just rest."

"Ugh...Lan Zhan, you worry too much."

"I always will about you." Lan Zhan looked at me with a sincere expression.

Why is he so wonderful to me? God, I love him so much!

"Alright alright, I'll go sleep okay? But don't worry yourself over anything. I'm good."

I walk to the bed, Lan Zhan closely following behind me. As I crawl in, I try teasing with the ~sexiest~ pose I could muster at 4 am, feeling weak as shit. Even though we had to get up in an hour, I didn't care.

"Lan Zhan~ why don't we have some fun love?" I give a small wink. Hehe, there's no way he could resissst.

"You need rest."

"Lan Zhaaaaan" Maybe he'll pay attention if I do this.

"Rest."

"Lan Wangjiii"

"Mn."

"I love youuu~"

"I do too."

I sigh in defeat as I realize he's really fallen asleep. I opt to cling to him instead, so I wrap my arm around his stomach and rest my head on his chest.

No POV

Wei Wuxian was sprawled all over Lan Wangji, who in contrast, laid in a perfect position. Lan Wangji opened his eyes remembering the earlier moment they both had. He stood up from the bed and gently put his hand on his sleeping husband's forehead once more. He still felt warm.

A light blush painted his cheeks as he stared at Wei Wuxian. His breathing was calm and he seemed to be in bliss, smiling in his sleep, Lan Wangji wondered if his beloved was dreaming. 

Though he was curious, his thoughts were soon replaced with another. He kissed the cheek of Wei Wuxian and spoke to him in a tender whisper.

"Wei Ying."

No response.

"Wei Ying, darling. It's 5 am" This time he gently shook his groggy partner.

"Mmm... Mhm..." 

A small smile showed on his face. Seeing him like this is cute. 

"I'll make us something."

"Okie, thank you." He opened his eyes a bit, still sleepiness in them but gave a smile to Lan Wangji who returned the favor with a smile of his own.

When the food was prepared, the couple sat down. 

"So what's going on today??" Wei Wuxian asked, bubbly as usual.

"I have more cultivation duties to attend to. Then I have a meeting with my brother and a night hunt will proceed after."

The younger now eating quickly, mouth full said, "Awe, well I guess you'll be pretty busy huh? I was hoping we could spend more time together today."

"Keep your mouth closed when you eat." He wiped a bit of food off of his lover's lip.

"Oh! And I have to watch over the juniors today too. Getting them to learn archery has gone very well, they are skilled as they are from the Lan Clan of course, haha" 

"Mn. You're a good teacher." Lan Wangji looked to Wei Wuxian with a small smile.

"And you're a great cook! This tastes amazing Lan Zhan." Wei Wuxian then finished his meal, quickly asking for another bowl.

And then another...

And then another...

"Wei Ying, that's 3 bowls." Lan Zhan had said, eyebrows furrowed.

"That was delicious! I was starrrving, hehe"

"Mn..." Lan Zhan hadn't seen Wei Wuxian eat so much, so early too.

Moments later Wei Wuxian had grabbed his mouth, feeling nauseous, he threw up in his hand. Lan Zhan reacted quickly and had gotten a pail so his lover could use it as he cleaned up the area.

"Shit...I'm so sorry..." Wei Wuxian was now tearing up. This is so fucking annoying. I hate being sick like this. I was fine 10 minutes ago!

He was frustrated with himself and Lan Wangji spotted it. He finished cleaning up and went to sit next to his husband. He wiped a tear from his cheek.

"You should go see Wen Qing after archery practice is over."

Wei Wuxian let out a sigh, "Alright..."

Lan Wangji was now worried that Wei Wuxian was really sick. This was unlike him to be so sick. It must be cold. It must be...
