Pulling Through Together (Lan Zhan x Wei Ying)

An Early Start

At 11 weeks...

Wei Wuxian was putting on his robes, humming to himself the song that Lan Zhan had made for them. It was peaceful, and he found it relaxing to hum. As he began to tie the front of his robe, he stopped to notice his abdomen. A small baby bump started to show more.

He smiled as he placed a hand on it.

"I'm so excited to meet you", he said in a whisper. He knew that the baby wouldn't be able to hear him so early in the pregnancy, but it still helped to talk to it. He soon finished up changing and met Lan Zhan at the tea table so they could eat. 

"How are you feeling?" Lan Wangji looked to Wei Wuxian who was now pouting as he chewed his food. 

"I'm alright but the food..." he stopped to drink a bit of his tea.

"What's wrong with it? Did I do something?" Lan Wangji was worried that he may have poisoned his husband or added too much or too little of something, but he wasn't sure what.

"Is so fucking amazing...I-I can't..." Wei Wuxian now had a tear fall. He always loved Lan Zhan's cooking whether it was spicy or not, but right now he was weeping. 

Lan Wangji smiled at the compliment while simultaneously had a worried expression because his lover was crying over his cooking, which had never happened before. He calmly stood from his position across the table and sat next to Wei Wuxian, placing a peck on his cheek. Wei Wuxian looked to his husband and kissed him too.

"Wei Ying?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you feeling better, darling?"

"Yes a lot better, thank you. I'm sorry about that. That was a bit much haha!"

The two soon after finished their meal, and since they had nothing to do related to the disciples or cultivational duties to attend to, they decided to have the day to themselves.

"The baby bump is showing a bit more now." Wei Wuxian said as the two were now cuddling.

Lan Wangji smiled as he placed a hand on his lover's abdomen, kissing his temple.

"Should we start prepping?", the younger man asked.

"Yes." Lan Wangji then placed a kiss on the back of Wei Wuxian's neck, who shuddered in response.

"Hmm, why don't we go down to Caiyi Town? Maybe we could find some cute baby stuff." Wei Wuxian said, now all giddy. 

Wei Wuxian now turned to face Lan Wangji to kiss him. The two didn't want to leave their current positions but they also wanted to be able to look around the markets in Caiyi Town before they closed, so they made sure that the other was ready and headed to the town.

As the couple walked around the markets, Wei Wuxian would want to look at anything that they could find relating to their baby. Cute clothes, toys, cribs, slings, etc. You name it. He knew he was a bit early to be looking into these things, but he couldn't help himself. 

"Aww look at this? Why don't we get these?" Wei Wuxian held up adorable clothes for the baby. Lan Wangji would've bought them, however...

"We don't know if the baby will be a boy or girl yet." He said to the shorter man. Wei Wuxian groaned a bit, he knew Lan Zhan was right though. It wasn't time to buy clothes.

"Alright alright. Well, I guess we'll have to wait, huh?" He instinctually laid a hand over his abdomen as he said these words.

Lan Wangji noticed as his husband did so and smiled seeing how happy Wei Ying was, he always wanted him to be happy. If Wei Ying was happy, then so was he.
