Tony's dinner went how we both had expected, ending the night with pizza and a few rounds of UNO. He got the hang of it quickly but it was starting to get late and I hadn't taken a shower yet. I still smelled like coffee.
He throws the empty pizza box in the garbage when I walk to his bathroom and turn on the shower. I crack the door just so I don't steam it up too badly in here.
I'm aware that I'm a little psychotic when it comes to my shower temperature. I don't know why that no matter how I'm feeling, if the water isn't steaming and making my skin red, it's not hot enough.
When I undress and wait for the water to finish heating up, I take a step in and pull the shower door shut. Tony bought me a bottle of shampoo and conditioner to keep at his place, along with a toothbrush and other basic living necessities.
I'm not over here that often. I don't want to make it a habit of staying with him so much that I don't enjoy my own living space. I'll spend the night at his place once or twice a week but he mainly comes over to my apartment to hang out.
I finally get the water at the perfect temperature and close my eyes to rub in the shampoo. The shower door creaks, forcing my eyes to snap open. I turn around to face Tony pressed up against the wall, staring at me.
"Not to intrude or anything but I forgot to give you this." He holds out his hand, presenting a bottle of the only body wash I've ever used; Olay shea butter.
It's comical, me standing under the shower water and Tony standing next to me fully dressed with body wash in his hands to give to me.
I reach over and take the bottle from him, getting a few splashes of water on his skin that he doesn't seem to mind. "Thanks. That's very thoughtful." I chuckle.
He keeps his lips parted, still not breaking our eye contact no matter how badly he seems to want to.
"I could've just left it on the counter or something but I-" He starts to trail off.
"You...want to join me?"
He sucks in a breath, bringing his hand up through his hair to tug at the ends. He's smiling, almost erupting in a fit of laughter but stops himself. "That's a bad idea, right?"
"Not at all." I grin, pulling him by the collar of his shirt into the shower.
He gasps, taken aback by my force and actually does laugh when I leave him standing there fully clothed under the shower head to get soaked.
"Bree!"
"Oh, is this not what you meant?" I tease.
Tony's eyes lock on mine again. I stop smiling and return this intense gaze.
He grabs me by the sides of my face, pulling me into a deep kiss. His wet hair starts to fall in his face so he takes one hand from mine to push it out of the way.
We kiss for what seems like forever, but must have only been about a minute.
I lift up the corner of his soaked t-shirt. "Take this off."
He smiles, pulling the fabric over his head and tossing it right out of the shower door. He removes his pants next, followed by all the rest. It was a good thing he wasn't wearing shoes.
He leans forward to kiss me again, fueling this fierce desire emerging. Tony lifts me up, pressing my back into the shower wall, deepening the kiss.
I move my hair out of the way as he starts trailing down the side of my neck to my collarbone. I tense up involuntarily and he pulls away to ask what was wrong.
"Nothing, I'm just sensitive there." I admit.
"Really? I never noticed before."
"You never kissed me there before."
He thinks about it for a moment and nods, returning his lips to my skin in another swift movement.
I start to feel anxious doing this in the shower, remember listening and reading to all the horror stories of people ending up in the hospital.
"Maybe we should move to the bed?" I suggest.
Tony laughs and eyes me again. "Do you not like this?"
"No, I do! It just feels a little risky."
"Risky is fun."
He sounds like Maddy. We must be spending too much time with her.
"Okay." I whisper.
He grins and continues the trail of kisses down my chest, keeping me in place against the wall. He reaches down to lift my legs that I already know to curl around his thighs.
His lips are back to mine in an instant while one hand holds me up and the other explores every place it can get to.
"Turn the water down. Now it's getting hot." I whisper breathlessly.
Even too hot for me.
Tony reaches behind him to smack the shower handle down, easing off the heat. It immediately becomes freezing.
I yelp. "Tony! Too cold!"
He laughs and fumbles around with it to get it at a better temperature. "Don't worry, I got it."
I snicker and turn my head to the side away from him. He turns it back to him, staring at me like he can see everything. It almost takes my breath away.
"Bree..."
Oh no. I have a feeling I know what's coming next. This can't happen. Not right now. Not yet.
It's not the right time.I press my lips to his in an attempt to distract him. He kisses me back for a few seconds but starts to pull away again.
"Bree, I'm trying to-"
Stop it!
I kiss him again. He tightens his grip on my thigh, drawing his head back.
"Breanna!" He laughs.
Distract him. That's all I can keep doing.
I reach my hand up, wrapping his hair around the ends of my fingers, and burying my face in the side of his neck. He exhales, gently digging his dull fingernails into my skin.
I skim my bottom lip across the base of his jaw, up the side of his face right behind his ear. He's sensitive there so it was perfect to erase whatever was on his mind.
"Dammit." He whispers.
"Hm?"
He shakes his head, kissing me fervidly only to be interrupted by my damn cellphone ringing.
"Are you kidding me." He groans.
I chuckle. "Let me just make sure it's not important."
He nods and sets me down. I quickly step out of the shower, wrapping my towel around me and picking up my phone from the bathroom counter.
"It's just Maddy." I answer. "Hello?"
Tony turns the shower off.
"Bree! Hey, it's Ben. Um...I think Maddy's in labor."
Maddy's impeccable timing.
