Chapter 15 (Nice Ace)

"You wanna join us for dinner?"

That was Michelle, Alex locks herself in the bedroom. at first she wondered who is knocking because Ace has his own key and he is too rude to knock.

"I thought you guys left." Alex said to Michelle.

"Ace wants us to stay."

"Great, if he said you stay all of you will stay and there's nothing you can do about it."

"Actually he's being considerate, we will leave for New York on Sunday and it would be a little inconvenient for all of us if we leave, Tony, Chase and Chloe needs to come back a couple of days later the flight alone are too long and exhausting."

Michelle has a tender smile on her face while she explained things but for Alex she's a patron of Ace and there is no way Michelle would bad mouth her employer.

"You're just making excuses so i would like him and i understand your loyalty lies with that devil but no matter how hard you try to justify his good deeds there is no way i will like your boss."Alex said with sarcasm.

"Alex, my loyalty maybe laid with Ace but I am not going to make excuses for him just so you would like him. You have a mind of your own and under the circumstances there is no way I can influence you so you would fall for him. It's your decision to make whether you will fall for that guy or not."

Michelle got a point, Alex wanted to correct the "fall for him" part but she ignored the idea. Instead she said:

"How did you manage to stay and work for that devil?"

Michelle laughs.

"Ace is an angel with a devil disguise he's nice and really cool."

"I doubt that!"

"Why don't you come downstairs and have dinner with us. I've heard from Tony you guys are making progress."

"They're nice people and so are you Michelle, I just can't believe how the heck you became friends with a demon."

"C'mon" Michelle smiles at Alex and held her hands. "Let's have dinner together, just ignore the devil." Michelle winks.

Dining table with six chairs and every husband occupies the seat opposite to their wives. How can Alex 'ignore the devil' if she's sitting in front of him?

But Alex tried, she even tried harder actually not to look at the devil.

"This is great; did you try something new Chloe?" Alex compliment the food and continue to ignore Ace.

"Do you like it?" Chloe smiled.

"Yeah, the meat is so tender and it tastes really good."Alex took another bite with a smile on her face.

"Great, because it wasn't me! That's actually Ace cooking and he's the one who prepared this dinner." Chloe plastered a naughty smile.

"It's some kind of a peace offering," Tony said "For behaving like a teenage boy this afternoon."

"And he's just jealous... please try to understand." Chase whispered to Alex then winked at her.

Ace smiled, Alex on the other hand remained quiet but in her mind she said 'That devil can really cook and he has a great smile' Alex instantly ignore her positive impression with Ace and have her hate towards Ace back at once. 'He's the devil of course he can be deceiving.' Alex warned herself.

Over dinner, Chase discussed how he met Ace. he picked his pocket in New York and Ace caught him but instead of giving him to authorities Ace asked him why he need to do such thing? Chase explained his mother is sick and he's got no job. To his surprised Ace asked him to work for him, Chase said yes and now he's an employee of Ace's security agency run by Tony.

Tony on the other hand had his own story why he became friends with Ace; He used to worked as one of the many bodyguard of Ace's father. Since they have the same age and Ace is the only child they become close. After college Ace decides to build the security agency and let Tony runs the place, that said agency is affiliated with the government and they do jobs for the CIA, FBI, and homeland security. Ace introduced Michelle to Tony and the rest is history.

While Chloe became friends with Ace while she works as a waitress in a restaurant where Ace usually dine, Ace learned she's a computer geek so he asked her and employed her in the agency.

After hearing the stories Alex can't help but wonder why did Ace make friends with these people? he's rich and he have lots of friends for sure but why these people? Alex ignore the fact that maybe, just maybe Ace is really a good guy. The nice, sweet and kind hearted person just like his friends told her.

But Alex is too stubborn to accept that fact, Ace for sure have some reason why he's friends with them and she's not convince and she's worried to express her thoughts on Ace Merrill.

"I was just thinking, maybe the reason why he built that agency is so that he can hire all of you and so that you would owe him. Is that why you do all the dirty jobs for him cause you owed him that much." Alex said.

"What dirty works?" Ace is confused.

Tony explained.

"We kind of threaten her on your wedding just like we planned."

"Wait! You planned on me?" Alex is furious.

"Oh please Alex we have our reasons and you might not understand but I'm pretty sure you will soon." Chloe said.

"I would like to make a toast." Tony interrupt the enrage atmosphere from Alex. "Let us raised our glasses and toast to our friendship."

Every one raised their glasses, Alex was hesitant but then give in, she's stuck, 'live with it' she said in her mind. It's not that bad anyway.
