Chapter 21 (Tragedy)

"Oh Alex, congratulations!" Michelle hugged her. "What did Ace say?"

"I never told him yet?"

"Why not?"

"It's not part of the plan Michelle, we were just starting and..."

"How many weeks?"

"Four weeks I guess, I just learned it yesterday and I never had a chance to see a doctor yet, could you please keep it a secret and don't tell anyone especially Ace not even to Tony."

"Sure" Michelle looks at her, there was a moment of silence then she asked: "Do you want it?"

"Of course I do, are you kidding me! What kind of question is that? I have a life on me from Ace and this is best thing that ever happened to me."

"Then why the long face?"

"I don't think I'm ready to be pregnant."

"There is nothing that can prepare us women to be a mother and if you are going to be one... you will be and you'll bear child whether you like it or not."

"I know"

"Do you really like that child Alex?"

"I love it, Michelle! I'm just worried Ace might not like it."

"Why not?"

"He just told his parents having kids needs to be planned and he's not ready to have one yet. He said he wanted to enjoy our moment together alone, just the two of us. I guess he's just trying to be polite to his father not to have kids or anything... I don't know."

"When do you plan on telling Ace?"

"Soon, I guess...you can't hide this kind of secret like forever."

The party went well, later that evening after all the guests left and they're in their room getting ready for bed. Ace stared at Alex.

"What" Alex smiled at Ace.

"Is there something you wanted to tell me?"

"What do you mean?"

"You seem restless... is there something wrong?"

"Nothing I'm just tired."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah let's go to sleep."

Alex is waiting for the right moment to tell Ace about her pregnancy, it's been weeks and sooner or later her belly will be notice and she needs to see a doctor. Alex decides to tell Ace when he comes home from work later this evening.

She went to the grocery and buy something special for dinner. She was in a good mood while she prepares dinner. After she finished cooking she went upstairs to take a quick shower, Ace could be home any minute and she wanted to be beautiful.

As she entered the bathroom she didn't notice the soap on the floor, it's already too late and she fell on the floor.

Alex felt the pain from the fall, she studied herself in a moment then she felt the pain strikes on her lower part. She moves her body to stand but the pain from her lower part and her lower abdomen intensified. She slowly move and dragged herself on the wall when she rest her back she saw the lined blood stained on the floor from where she came from up to her.

"Oh my God." Alex gasped while she put her hand on her part when she saw a lot of blood coming from there Alex screamed.

That's when Ace came in.

"Alex what happened?"

"Ace" 

There's worried look on his face but Alex is petrified because Ace didn't know she's pregnant.

"I was about to tell you..." Alex voice is trembling "I'm going to tell you... I will tell you tonight..." Alex begin to sob. "I am going to tell you..."

"Hush baby hush." Ace lift her "I'll take you to the hospital."

"I'm sorry Ace, I'm so sorry" Alex cried.

"Shhh....." Ace commands her with love not to talk then took her to the hospital.
