ARMIN'S POV
We'll find you, Y/n."Does anyone know where he is in the center rank? We don't want to just be blinding going around random places and not finding anything." Rayvon said as I thought back on my own words earlier.
"He might be in the rear of the center rank. Near the Commander and close to the Captain." I said as Rayvon nodded, the galloping footsteps of our horses helped a bit with the awkward tension between us all.
"So what was that thing earlier?" Rayvon asked, trying to start some sort of conversation between us all, but I was the only one that responded.
"That Female Titan. I don't know what it is. It almost killed Jean, but it let me live. All I know is that it's headed for Y/n and we have to stop it." For one of the few times in my life, I felt courage and determination flow through me.
RAYVON'S POV
I glanced over at Ariel, trying to see if she was still crying, but she avoided eye contact with me. Immediately looking away, I could hear a few sniffles from her. What's wrong with me? Why do I care about her? It's not like I cared about that time I spent with her all those years ago in Calaneth. It doesn't matter to me... Right?
I looked over at her again, my heart skipping a beat, catching me by surprise from the mysterious and unknown feeling I felt. My stomach felt a bit weird, but it was probably from the wind and going this fast on a horse. I felt a small tap on my shoulder as I looked over at the person tapping me, "Krista?"
"You should apologize to her or something. With her staying like this, you're hurting her and it looks like you're also hurting yourself." Krista said in a soft and caring tone. Her horse was doing it's best to keep up with me, but it started to lag behind, before finally going back to the others.
Ignore it, Rayvon. You don't care, just clam down and focus.
RAYVON'S POV: One Hour Earlier
"Purple smoke. They need help." I mumbled to myself, not wanting Sasha to hear. Unfortunately, she did."What?! You can't just leave me here!" Sasha protested, scared for her life, "I- I can't f- fight an abnormal!"
"You'll be fine. Just go join the recon squad. I'll come back for you later." I sighed and gave her a deadpanned look.
"F- Fine, but you stay safe... I don't want you to get hurt... Or worse..." Sasha said as she looked down and a light colored red blush was plastered on her cheeks, "T- There's still something I have to tell you..."
I lifted one of my brows and tilted my head, giving her a confused expression, before shaking my head and making my way over to the signal.
RAYVON'S POV
Tell me something? Tell me what? The hell was she in about?I sighed as thoughts of Ariel and Sasha filled my head, "Damn it. What do I do?..." I picked up the horse's pace, trying to make it to Y/n faster than the others, doing my best to clear my mind.
Y/N'S POV
"Captain, where are we headed?" I asked, confused on the sudden change in direction towards the forest."We're going into the Forest of Giant Trees. Only the center rank is going to enter. The others will stay out and prevent any Titans from entering." Levi informed us all, his voice not faltering once at the fact that we would be separate from everyone else.
"What?! The Scouts can't handle themselves like that! They're new Scouts!" I was trying my best to make sure I was close to Mikasa, but each command from Erwin was making it harder and harder.
