Season One: Chapter 35

MIKASA'S POV
Ignoring my own question, my eyes caught a certain huge figure sitting slouched down near a house, "Y- Y/n!" I rushed over to him with my gear, trying to avoid any of the fires, "Y/n!" I shouted, landing on his shoulder and coughing a bit from the smoke, "Y/n, get up!" I banged the hilts of my swords on his cheek, desperately trying to get him up, "Y/n!" I looked over at his nape, going over to it and trying to find the right place to make a cut, "I'm getting you out..." I hesitantly put my blades near him, my hands shaky and unsteady. I didn't want to hurt him, but I had to get him up.

Swiftly and effortlessly making a cut, Y/n popped out of his Titan, unconscious, but alive, "M- Mikasa?" He stuttered out, his eyes narrowed.

"You're ok." I hugged him, my arms wrapping around him.

Y/n slowly hugged back, his warm breaths traveling to my ear, "Sorry." I felt his head move as he looked over to the left, "The others. They're still fighting Annie. I have to help." He broke away from the hug and prepared to bite into his hand.

I looked at him, tears filling my eyes, "Y/n... Wait."

He looked at me, his eyes softening as he lifted an eyebrow, confused.

"Y/n, listen." I gripped his hand tightly, his eyes now fuocusing me and his own hand clutching mine, "I'm sorry. I never told you how... how much I love you! I was too scared... What if I lost you?... I'd be alone again... That thought terrified me... I wanted to tell you, but I just couldn't." I picked his other hand up, resting my forehead against his like he had that day we spent together, "I want to spend my life with you. I want to be with you. The more I postpone this, the closer I get to losing you."

"Mikasa..." Y/n whispered, tears trailing down his eyes.

"Y/n... I love you." I finally said, a weight being lifted off my shoulders from speaking the words I wanted to say to him. I smiled and pressed my lips against his, him doing the same. His lips felt soft and hot, the steam emitting from him adding a fiery flavor to them.

I pulled away and looked at him, a dark red blush on my cheeks and a lighter one on his, "I love you, Mikasa." Y/n smiled back, "Let's end this." Y/n tightened his grip around my hand, bringing his other hand up to his mouth and biting into it, lightning striking down where we sat as his Titan wrapped around him.

I looked up at him from his palm, making my way to his shoulder, "You can beat her, Y/n. I know you can." I placed a kiss on his cheek. He nodded and ran full speed to Annie, giving me time to get out of the way before he punched her, sending her to the other side of Stohess.

"Mikasa! You're ok!" Armin shouted full of relief.

I looked over at him and nodded, "How did Hange's trap go?"

Armin looked down disappointed, his cloak was torn and was dirtied, the other Scouts not looking any better, "She escaped and killed a few Scouts and many civilians. Rayvon helped lure it into the other trap, but that failed too." Armin glanced to his side, an unconscious body resting next to him, "Elias tried to fight it himself, but he didn't end up too well." He said with a saddened expression, his eyes sympathetic.

Rayvon sighed and sat down, "This is a lost cause."

Suddenly, the loud roar of a Titan rang out through Sina, echoing into the sky. We all looked over in Y/n's direction, his Titan on the floor and Annie standing over him, about to bite into his nape.

"Y- Y/n!" My eyes widened and my blood ran cold, my heart raced as I begged and pleaded to myself for Y/n to get up.

"We're going, now!" Rayvon grabbed my wrist, jumping off the roof and zooming towards Annie,.

The Female Titan's jaw then received a cut as it hung loosely. She stumbled back, steam coming from her wound, "Sorry I took so long." Y/n's Titan stood and I made my way over to it, getting back on it's shoulder, putting my hand on his cheek. Y/n held his hand out, the figure standing on it and looking up at the two of us.

"Eren!" I shouted, grateful that he had saved Y/n.

"Annie is the enemy." Eren furrowed his brows, turning his back to us to face Annie.

"How did you pull an attack like that off on Annie?" I asked.

"Oh, she was distracted. No way I could do that myself." Eren rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.

Rayvon then landed on Y/n's other shoulder, pointing at Annie as she started to run, "Y/n, I'll take out her legs. You finish her off. If I need any help, Mikasa, back me up."

I nodded as Y/n ran after Annie, the others behind us following and standing on the rooftops nearby, "She's climbing the wall!" Hange shouted. Rubble fell from the wall, hitting the ground below, and making small craters, people's screams filling the air.

"I won't allow her to!" I swiftly weaved through the houses, dodging the fires and the falling rubble. I made it to the top of the wall, descending a bit as my eyes met Annie's blue orbs, pleading for me to let her go, "Annie, end this." I quickly cut all the fingers on her hands, standing on top of her head as she slowly fell, "Fall." I pushed her down slightly, her Titan hitting the ground, rocks launching into the air and coming crashing back down on her. I hooked onto the wall as Y/n jumped on her, Rayvon cutting her legs and Y/n pummeling her into the ground causing it to rumble from the force of his punches.

Annie let out a cry, Y/n continuing to punch her. Her human body came out of the Titan, Y/n looking at it with the intent to kill. He tried to reach for her, the others staring to shout at him.

"We need to question her!"

"No~ Not my Titan!"

"Don't let your emotions control your actions. We need her alive." Rayvon said, cutting Y/n out of his Titan, and pulling him out as a blue light engulfed Annie.

I covered my eyes and opened them again, a crystal now encasing Annie, "Y/n..." I ignored Annie and made my way to Rayvon.

I took Y/n from Rayvon as all of us surrounded Annie's crystal, the Scouts looking on defeated and broken. Everything we had just done... Was for nothing.

"So... This was all pointless..." Jean dejectedly said.

I focused my attention on Y/n, "Y/n, you're ok..." I smiled and hugged him, feeling his chest moving. He was unconscious, but he was alive...
