The bright lights of the room shone on Y/n's face, illuminating him slightly, but the beaming sun illuminated him more, shining through the window, it's glare slightly blinding the boy as he slowly woke from his rest. Four hours had passed since the Battle at Stohess, and the higher-ups were in turmoil. Although the operation to defeat Annie had gone without a hiccup. The plan to capture failed. And no one blamed themselves more than Y/n.
"Y/n?" Mikasa was laying next to him and copying him, she sat up as well. Unlike him, she hadn't actually slept. She just stayed in the bed, wide-awake.
"Mikasa?" Y/n glanced in her direction, "You're ok!" He gleamed and pulled the girl into the warmth of his chest, smiling just at the sight of her.
Mikasa smiled against him, but it soon dissipated when she broke apart from Y/n, "Are you ok? Are you hungry? Do you need something to drink?" Mikasa just bombarded him with question after question after question, not even letting him take a breath.
"I'm fine, Mikasa. Just a bit..." Y/n brought a hand to his forehead, Mikasa reacting quickly and ready to help him if he was having another one of his random headaches, "Restless, I guess." He sighed and shook his head, attempting to wake himself up more.
Mikasa just hummed and the two of them sat in silence.
"Y/n? You up?" The coconut's voice was immediately recognizable from behind the door as he stepped in with a horse, well, horse-face in tow. Jean closed the door behind himself slowly and stood near it, unwilling to go any further to witness Y/n and Mikasa being lovebirds up close. Armin sat at the foot of the bed, sighing and brining his knees up his chest, rocking slightly, "The reports foretold the causality rate of the battle to be high. Every body hasn't been accounted for, but it's expected to be immeasurable." Armin tensed up, clutching his knees tighter, almost, afraid, "Some of the bodies aren't even recognizable."
Y/n sat stone-faced, his unusual quietness going unnoticed by Armin and Jean, but not by Mikasa.
"Y/n?" She attempted to reach for him, but retracted her hand, keeping them to herself. She had never been in a relationship and she didn't know how to handle a situation like this.
"Guess Annie and I are worse than the Killer in the Capital." Y/n stared at the bedsheets below him, almost in a trance. He knew they weren't, but to him, it felt like everyone was staring at him, disappointed and ashamed.
"Worse than Kenny the Ripper?" Jean mocked. Y/n glanced up at him, his expression gaining some life to it, "Yeah, you killed a bunch of civilians in Trost. But Erwin said it himself, some sacrifices are necessary for the betterment of mankind."
Y/n gave a slight nod and then shifted his gaze towards Mikasa, "Do you hate me?"
That was something she could answer without saying a word. She shook her head and grasped onto her scarf, her actions giving Y/n the answer he had hoped to hear.
"You should eat something and rest up some more, if you can." Armin got off the bed and let out another sigh, before walking to the door and stepping out. Jean lingered for a bit and gave Y/n a forced smile, then followed Armin.

Rayvon sat in a chair beside the boy who had admired him so much. He was nothing special, yet Elias still looked up to him as an idol. Rayvon shook the thought from his head and focused on Elias who was stirring awake, his eyes opening slowly, until his pupils were fully visible.
