Y/N'S POV
I leaned back in my chair, rocking back and forth, but making sure I didn't fall. A few hours had passed since we returned from the wall and the captain and I were waiting for Erwin to arrive. He had urgent news, but he was sure taking his time.I fiddled with fingers, the creaking of the chair was the only thing filling the room with any sound. The awkwardness in the room was present as Levi drank his tea, not uttering a single word.
I set my chair back down, "Captain. I'm sorry about your squad. I could've done more to help."
"I told you already. Make your choice and don't regret it. You did all you could." Levi finished his tea in his odd way of drinking, setting the cup back down on the plate.
I didn't mutter a single word and only nodded.
"What's taking him so long? He must be constipated." I covered my mouth, stifling my laugh.
"I didn't think you'd be the type to make jokes like this, captain."
"What jokes?" The captain gave me a deadpanned look.
The two of us just stared blankly at each other, until the door swung open, the Commander and the other scouts walking in and filling in the empty chairs.
"Sorry for taking so long, but I have urgent news." The Commander laid out a map on the table, it looked just like the one from the expedition, "This is the map of the expedition."
What's the point of this? Why show us a map of the failed expedition?
Well, it's going to be interesting.
"Thank you, Commander. Look," Armin pointed at a position on the map, "This is the right wing or the right recon rank. This place was believed by many people that this is where Y/n would be. I checked the other's layouts too. Connie, Sasha, Jean, Reiner, Bertolt, Elias, Rayvon, Ariel, and others. They all seemed to have relatively the same layout of where Y/n was placed in the formation. Most had Y/n in the right wing. Others had him in the rear or the left. That obviously didn't make sense. Why put Y/n in a rank that could easily be overrun by Titans? That point was proven to me when Titans wiped out the entire right wing."
I leaned forward, trying to get a better look at the map while trying to process all the information Armin was spitting at us, "Yeah, I was in the center rank with the Captain and... Nevermind."
The others caught onto my abrupt end, noticing my discomfort, "That's correct. Y/n was in the center rank near the Captain and close to the Commander. That is the most protected position in the whole formation." Armin said.
"Get to the point." Levi spat, Mikasa furrowing her brows at the Shorty.
"U- Understood, Captain. When I discovered that Y/n was in the center rank, we attacked the Female Titan to try and stop it from getting to the center, but we failed. Rayvon and Krista came to help us, but before that, during our brief scuffle with it, it looked at it's palm and changed direction towards the center. It might have overheard our conversation. That's just the info. The part that surprised me was the Female Titan itself. It looked just like a certain cadet that trained with us in the 104th. Blonde hair and blue eyes."
All of us looked at Krista, making her cower behind Ymir, "Well there's no way it's her. She was with me." Rayvon vouched for Krista.
Eren gasped and his eyes widened, "Her stance..."
The entire room turned to face him. His hands were shaking, but were clenched tightly into fists, "Something wrong, Eren?" I asked.
"Her stance, Y/n... You saw it... Her fighting stance was just like..." Eren trailed off, unable to utter another word.
