Lily's Point of View:

I walked through the halls of Hogwarts. We'd only been back a week. Everytime I seemed to look at Rosalie she was looking wistfully at Sirius or if he wasn't around she just looked miserable. She barely spoke now. This is what has led me to looking for someone in particular and I found him. I quickly ducked into the deserted classroom, waiting for him to pass. When he did I grabbed him by the arm and dragged him into the classroom.

"The hell —!" James yelped.

"Shhh! It's just me." I hissed at him.

"Evans? You were the last person I expected to be dragging me into an empty classroom." James said though he did not say in his usual flirty tone with his usual suggestive grin.

"Desperate times, desperate measures." I insisted.

"Are you okay? Do you need help?" James said and I could see the sincerity in his face and hear it in his voice.

It took me off gaurd. I was expecting a more childish or arrogant response. Something like 'Need me to be your Knight in shining armour, Evans?' But no, his response was . . . mature . . . caring.

"I'm . . . I'm fine. Its not about me. Its about Rosalie and Sirius. They're miserable without each other and if they're too stubborn to sort it out so it's up to us." I said.

James was quiet for a good few minutes.

"This isn't like you, Evans." James pointed out.

"Look, Potter, I will protect my best friend from anything that wants to hurt her. And right now it's her decision that's hurting her. And she won't even tell me why. We used to tell each other everything. Rose keeps saying she broke up with Sirius because she didn't agree with what he did but I know when my best friend isn't telling me something. I can't bare to see her like this. So hopeless." I said and wiped away a tear that fell from my eye.

James hesitated and then very hesitatantly hugged me. For one fleeting second I had the instinct the push him a way but I didn't feel any ulterior motive from him then just to comfort me.

"I understand. I've never seen Sirius in so much pain. It's killing me." James said as he hugged me gently.

I sighed and hugged James back for a few moments before I pulled away.

"Basically, what I am proposing is a team up. Maybe we can get them back together." I said.

"What first?" James said without hesitation.

"Information. Tell me, would Sirius need convincing to get back with Rose?" I asked.

"No. He would get back with her in a heart beat. The first chance he got." James said with certainty.

"Then it's Rosie that's the problem. I know she wants to get back with Sirius but for whatever reason she won't let herself. We need to find out what that reason is. Here's the plan, I'll see if I can get the reason out of Rose you try Remus. She may have told him. Meet me in Library after dinner and we'll see how far we've got." I said.

James nodded and we went our seperate ways.

As I walked to the music room I couldn't help but think how mature James was being. I found it pleasantly surprising. It was almost like he was completely different James. I couldn't help but wonder where this James has been for the past six years.

I found Rosalie in the music room. She was playing a few random keys on the piano. I knew she was waiting for inspiration to strike.

Before I came here, I stopped at the Great Hall to get some toast for her. Like most meals  she seems to be skipping them. I knocked on the door. Rosalie jumped slightly and turned to look at me. I smiled brightly at her and held up the stack of toast.
