Over the Summer
Sirius Point of View:
True to his word, James let me stay at his place for most of the summer. It was a massive relief to get away from the constant arguements between me and my parents. Remus also came to stay for a bit along with Rosalie. I still remember how she reacted when she found out we knew Remus was a werewolf.
Peter, James, Lily, Alice, Mary, Marlene and I were all watching Rosalie and Remus play chess in the common room late one night. Honestly, it's one of the most intense things I've ever watched, as each of them tried desperately to gain the upper hand. When the game finally ended in a draw, Rosalie's friends all went to bed. Rosalie was packing up the chess game as Remus lay down on the couch, falling asleep.
I grinned at James and Peter.
"A wemma way a wemma way a wemma way a wemma way . . ." I started to sing.
Rosalie raised an eyebrow at me, suspiciously.
"No." Remus groaned.
"In the jungle . . ." James sang Rosalie turned her suspicious look towards him.
"No." Remus groaned louder.
"The mighty jungle . . ." Peter sang.Rosalie now just looked generally confused. It was adorable how bewildered her big brown doe eyes looked.
"No!" Remus groaned even louder.
"THE WEREWOLF SLEEPS TONIGHT!" James, Peter and I sang.Rosalie's mouth fell open in horror.
"Go. To. Hell." Remus muttered.Rosalie looked between Remus and us, horrified. Slowly her expression was turning protective and determined, bordering on angry. Remus had warned us about her reaction.
"W-w . . . h-h-how did you even find out?" Rosalie demanded.
"Pretty obvious really." I said.
"We couldn't help but notice one of our best friends went missing every full moon." James insisted.
"How are they so . . . so calm about it?" Rosalie asked Remus, shocked.
"I don't think calm is the right word for it." Remus muttered.I could understand why Rosalie was shocked that anyone other then family would accept her brother. She's spent years moving from place to place in order to hide Remus' secret. She's spent a lot of years protecting Remus from those who would not just not accept him but would want him killed or locked away. Rosalie would do anything and everything for Remus.
"You're not going to tell anyone right?" Rosalie said, desperately.
"Course not!" Peter exclaimed.
"We've even got a plan to make his transformations easier." James said, enthusiastically.
"What plan?" Rosalie asked.
"Classified information for Marauders only." I said.
"Marauders?" Rosalie asked, slowly.
"New group name." Remus explained, yawning.Rosalie looked at all of us for a second before she sighed tiredly.
"Fine, I'm too tired to argue. Thankyou . . . for not telling anyone but if you do, I'll hex you into oblivion. I'm never too tired to do that." Rosalie said, defianitely. She then said goodnight and went up to her dormitory.
Rosalie had warmed up to us alot after that. She even started to smile and wave at us when we passed her in the halls, instead of glowering at us. Still, she didn't seem to like it when we cursed Snivellus and would always come with Lily to make us stop. She made her distaste for us hexing Snivellus apparent but other then that we all got along quite well.
I really like Rosalie, at first I thought she had no sense of humor but it was just hidden under the mask of maturity. She had to grow up so quickly, too quickly, like I did. We have just reacted differently to our traumas. Rosalie matured so she could protect her brother from the world, I cause chaos and spread mischief that never fails to make people laugh because it makes me forget the trauma I still have to enjure.
