Chapter 4

THE NEXT DAY

Maddie jumps to the sound of her door being knocked on

"Hey Maddie, it's Nat" "and Wanda" "um breakfast is ready if you're joining, waffles, sausage, bacon, and eggs. We also have cereal."

She quickly jumped from her bed running to open the door.

"Hey, sorry my phone is broken so I didn't have an alarm. What time is it?"

Wanda looks at her phone "7:43"

"Thanks, I'll be down in a minute"

"You can come down in that" Nat gives with a cute smirk. "I think the boys would like to see those piercings" pointing down to Maddie's nipples.

"Shit" Maddie cheeks grow red as she quickly puts her arms around her chest hiding her piercings, now realizing James most likely saw them last night.

"Hey don't be embarrassed, I use to have mine pierced but it became a hassle to take them in and out between missions"

"An-and they saw them?"

"Ooooo yeah" Wanda says, nodding her head up and down. Nat elbows her making Wanda chuckle.

"Ya they have seen it, but I slowly showed them. You know, sweeter than a lighter shirt and tighter shirt to where I was finally comfortable.

"Gotcha, well I'll be down in a few"

"We will save you spot" they say in unison before making their way back down to the hallway.

Quickly grabbing her leggings and an oversized lavender crew neck and throwing her long hair into a messy bun she made her way to the team floor.

"Morning kid, how was your first night here" Tony speaks from inside the fridge

"It was good, but do you know where I can go and fix my phone?"

"What's wrong with your phone?"

"Oh, um" looking around the room to see who is in the room "I dropped it last night off my kitchen counter and the screen is completely shattered I don't know if there are any other problems besides that"

"Take it to Bruce's and I lab after breakfast and one of us will be able to fix it"

"Thanks"

By now everyone has eaten breakfast and has made their way to their rooms or to the couch. James never showed up for breakfast. Steve insisted he probably went for a morning jog. Maddie made her way back to her room to grab her phone and take it to Bruce's and Tony's lab. Walking up the door she heard talking but still walked in.

"So you fell in the shower?" Bruce's voice echoes through the room. He wasn't in Maddie view so most likely he was in one of the hidden curtain rooms

"Ya, I did" James' voice follows right behind.

The door slams behind Maddie making her jump.

The curtain moves aside as Bruce is standing there looking at Maddie. James was also staring at her using his flesh hand to cover his metal hand.

"Sorry Bruce. I didn't know the door would slam that loud''

"It's okay, what do you need?"

"I dropped my phone last night and the screen is completely shattered. I don't know if that's the only problem or not I just know the screen is messed up"

"Okay, I look at it after I'm done looking at Bucky's wrist"

"Thanks Bruce" she hands him the phone. Bruce turns around facing away from Maddie. Maddie looks at James's wrist and smiles, before turning around and walking out.
