Chapter 54

"Maddie open up" banging his fist on Jasmine door, the door opens to Jasmine standing there with her boyfriend on the couch "Maddie isn't here James" he peers around the room without entering "Then where is she" looking over her shoulder to her boyfriend who is faintly shaking his head then looking back at him "I don't know"  taking a step back away from the door "Yes you do, just tell me where she is."

"I can't she told me not to tell you" rubbing his hands on his face before pushing his hands through his hair "Please just tell me, she turned her phone off and she took the company car so every car looks like it" Jasmine boyfriend stands up and walks over to them "Man to man give her space, when Maddie runs she needs space, that could be for a few hours or a few days." Jasmine chiming in "Its true when we got into big disagreements she would go to Olive place and vic versa, she likes her space during time like this to work it out in her head with no distractions"

"I just want to make sure she is safe"

"She is I wouldn't let her go anywhere that it wasn't safe" 

Looking between the couples who can see the pain in his eyes "What all did she tell you" flicking his eyes between them, "That you think she slept with Steve and then you brought up Sam and she said she lost it and started throwing shit at you and then took everything of yours out of her apartment and threw it into the hallway and then left...while pointing a gun at you. That reminds me" walking away from the door out of sight leaving Bucky and the boyfriend "I'm Isiah by the way" trying to make it less awkward. 

Returning a few seconds later with a small towel, "I told her to leave it here" handing him the towel, taking it from her unwrapping it to see her gun. "Thanks, did she say anything else?" looking up from his low eyebrows "Only that she needed a place to go to and I don't have any space here"

"Where did you send her"

"Your not getting that info out of me James"

"Worth a shot..." raising the covered gun "Thanks, sorry to bother you" walking out of the building. Standing on the sidewalk looking around at all the cars parked along the curb reading the licences plate for STRK 41, coming up flat. "James?" a voice beside him catching his attention, looking to his side to see Jasmine "Can we talk?" nodding his head walking back into her building. Ever emotion filling his body not knowing where this conversation was going to lead. 

Closing the building doors muffling the sound of the city "Maddie loves you I think its pretty clear, but it crushed her when you thought that of her...Her family looked at with disappointment, I know you know why. So when she heard you say everything it made her feel like that all again, I know she never did anything with Steve, I know she did shit with Charles, Andre, Sam and now you but she never did anything with Steve. She never looked at him like that or thought of doing anything with him, trust me I asked." 

Looking at the ground not being able to look up at Jasmine, "She loves you but that was really shitty of you to do and I can tell you're beating yourself up since you got here and started pounding on my door. She loves you and you love her" pushing her finger into his chest, tilting his head up to look at her "Does she still love me?" clenching his jaw furrowing his eyebrows with anxiety "I don't know...that's something you are going to have to ask her" taking a step back turning to walk back to her place.

"Jasmine..." watching as she walks away, turning around to look at him fiddling with his fingers like Maddie "When you see her..." taking a big swallow pushing down his emotions "tell her I love her" giving a small nod before walking back to her place. Closing his eyes tilting his head up to look at the ceiling before walking out. 

Walking up to Maddie apartment seeing Nat and Wanda folding his clothes "Why?" squatting down next to them "Maddie said she wanted it gone" plopping down sitting on his ass "When did she say that?"
