WELL THIS WAS NOT HOW I WANTED the night to go. First, I couldn't find Joshua anywhere, and he wasn't answering his cell. Then I finally find him, but I almost got hit by a car. Lastly, I almost drowned due to the current.

Now, I am sitting in Joshua's car, getting warmed up from his heaters. My clothes were soaking wet as well as my hair. My whole body was freezing, and the heat was feeling incredible.

Joshua was outside the car, talking to Xavier and Jake. I don't even know what's going on right now expect I know it has something to do with me because they keep looking over at me.

It was a few more minutes before Joshua got back into the car. His clothes were also soaked, along with his hair. His white shirt clung to his abs, and I couldn't help but glance at them.

"Xavier is going to drive your car back my house," he said, looking over at me.

"Are you going to tell me what's going on?" I asked him as I saw Xavier and Jake drive off.

Joshua was silent for a moment before he said,"Sebastian called me the other day."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, and he continued,"He said that he didn't win any money or glory at the race. He blames me, and he's going after you for it. He tricked me into thinking he snatched you after soccer practice when really you were at your house the entire time. He knew that we broke up, and he wanted to see how much I cared about you. I passed his test with flying colors, Leah.

After I realized he could get to you anywhere due to an inside source, I knew that I had to find the mole in my friend group. That's what we were doing out here tonight. Eliza was the mole, and I bet money that Sebastian was driving the car that almost hit you."

My eyes widen as I took all of this information in. Sebastian and Evie were working together this whole time. It made perfect sense, and I can't believe none of us saw it sooner.

"I didn't want to get you wrapped up in this again; not until I had a plan to get Sebastian away from you," Joshua added as his hand found mine. "But I guess trouble follows you wherever you go. What were you doing out here anyways?"

"Uhm, I was.." I stammered, nervously, as Joshua kept his eyes on mine. I took a deep breath before explaining.

"I came to tell you that I am sorry for what I said the other day. You aren't impossible to love, and I am so sorry I said that," I apologized to him as I sat in my seat sideways to face him better.

"It's okay, Annie. I forgive you," Joshua replied, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

I shook my head,"No, you don't understand. I-I pushed you away because I was scared you were going to hurt my heart. I couldn't handle another heartbreak after what happened with Asher then with Vanessa. I pushed away my feelings for you because I was scared. None of those words I said were true."
