THE NEXT MORNING, I was running behind. I had to be at the school in twenty minutes. I was in the middle of throwing my shoes on when the doorbell rang.
My parents left for work, so I was by myself.
It's probably Joshua.
He said that he would bring my purse over today.
After putting on my shoes, I grabbed my phone and my wallet before walking downstairs to the door. I pulled the door open, and I almost crumbled when I saw who was standing in front of me.
Asher.
His hair, that I once ran my hands through, is neat like always and his eyes i once adored made me feel sick to my stomach.
"Leave me alone, Asher," I said before shutting the door.
But Asher grabbed the door, and he pushed it back open.
"Cupcake, at least, hear me out," he replied with a smile as he stepped into my house.
"Don't call me that," I insisted with a scowl.
His smile dropped,"Alright. Fine. Can we please just go and talk? Please."
Don't fall for it. Don't fall for it.
I sighed,"Five minutes."
Asher grinned, and I walked into my kitchen to grab myself something to eat. Asher followed behind me, and he leaned against the doorframe as I grabbed myself a yogurt and a cup of orange juice.
"Four minutes and thirty seconds remaining," I informed him with a smirk.
"Brooke means nothing to me. I was drunk, and I thought it was you to be honest. That was the only time we made out," Asher said, walking towards me.
I took a sip of my drink before saying,"No you didn't because that was not the first time you two kissed."
He furrowed his eyebrows, and I continued,"Monday at the diner. You kept smiling at your phone then you leave me. Joshua also saw you bring home a girl who wasn't me, and don't forget about Sunday. You didn't fall asleep at your friend's house. You were at her house shoving your tongue down her throat."
Asher was silent for a moment before saying,"You're right. Brooke and I have been seeing each other for a while now."
"How long?" I asked him, a little afraid to know the answer.
