"HEY, JOSHUA, DO YOU WANNA COME with me and the twins to the park?" Campbell asked, sliding her coat on over her clothes.
"Sure," I replied, turning the tv off.
Brent was called into work so it was only me, Campbell, and the kids. I threw a hoodie over my shirt, wincing at my ribs.
"Why haven't you taken your medicine? It will help with the pain," Campbell asked, placing a hand on her hip.
"Because I don't want to. I don't need them," I argued as the twins made their way down the stairs.
"Yes you do," she retorted, stubbornly.
"Can we please just drop it, Cam? Please?" I begged her before the twins reached us.
She sighed,"Fine, but we are discussing this later because I don't want to see you in pain."
I nodded, and I put a smile on my face when the twins hugged my legs. I hugged them back, and I fixed Ryan's hood.
"Who's ready to go to the park?" Campbell asked, making them cheer happily.
We all headed out the door, and Campbell decided that we would walk since the park was only a few minutes away. It was a pretty day outside with not one cloud in sight.
The whole way to the park was quiet with only the sound of Kylie and Ryan talking to each other. Their relationship is so pure, and I hope they stay like this even when they are older.
I noticed that Campbell kept glancing over at me with a worried look on her face. I know she's worried about me, but I'm fine. I'm pushing through the pain without taking any pain killers.
My phone buzzed in my hand as me and Campbell sat on the bench, watching the twins play, and I looked down to see that Leah texted me. I haven't seen her today, and that makes me scared shitless. I know she is safe since there are multiple cops driving up and down her neighborhood, but I would rather her be with me. It would make me feel a whole lot better knowing she was with me, and Sebastian couldn't try anything without going through me first.
Tonight is the night everything is suppose to go down with the drug bust. Luke assured me that everything would go according to plan, but for some reason, I have an uneasy feeling in my gut. I don't know why though because so far the plan is working and everybody is safe. Even now, there are four different cops looking after me, Campbell, and the twins.
