Chapter 16: Recovery

-Renesmee POV-

I was running and running, the cool leaves hitting my feet, and the cold air running through my hair. I ran as fast as I could. I turned around and looked over my shoulder. I think I lost her. I turned back and there she was, fangs out and growled, biting down on my neck.

I gasped. My eyes slowly opening into a white room. I saw books oddly shoved onto the shelves, and I saw the rain dripping down on the window. Carlisle's office. It was just a dream. I sat up and discovered the cast on my leg, I felt a sharp pain spasm in my leg and I let out a groan.

I heard the door crack open and I froze, but relaxed when I saw it was my mom, dad and Jake.

"You're awake?" My mom asked.

I nodded, pushing my self up against the pillow.

"You have been in and out for the past hour." My dad said.

My hand reached up to my forehead, which was covered with a bandage and I groaned.

"Take it easy there Ness." Jake said

"What happened?" I asked confused

My mom bit her lip and sighed, pulling up a chair and sitting down by my bed. "Deven happened. You went downstairs, and she attacked you. She broke your leg, sprained your arm, and gave you a pretty bad concussion." My mom said, sobbing a few times in between, and grabbing my hand holding it tight. I looked over and noticed my right arm had a bandage, Tears came to my eyes.

"Ness are you okay?" My dad asked.

"Do you need more pain medicine?" Jake asked

"No, no. I'm just so dumb for going down there, and I'm lucky to even be alive." I cried out.

My mom grasped my left hand tighter. "We are so thankful, you aren't dumb Ness, I don't know why you did go down there, but it's okay. We are going to find her." She said with a small smile.

"You should get some rest Ness." My dad said, kissing my forehead lightly not to disturb the bandage. I laid back And my mom covered me up, brushing the hair out of my eyes and kissing my cheek, smiling as she walked out.

"Jake?" I said, as he was leaving

"Yes?" He said

"Are you mad at me? I mean I have been so distant and we are engaged and I haven't been planning and I am a wreck. Look at me. I understand if you don't want to get mar-" I said, he cut me off.

"Ness shhh... I'm not angry, I love you and everything you do, no matter what. I want to get married, I don't care if it takes us 30 years to get married. I just want to be with you." He said, kissing my lips lightly, then more forcefully.

Emmett cleared his throat at the door and Jacob laughed lightly, squeezing my hand and then walking out.

"You got something on your head." Emmett said, jokingly, following Emmett was Rosalie and Carlisle

"Yeah it's a bad ass battle scar." I said as he laughed some more and kissed my hand, then walking out.

Rosalie came up, her cheeks slightly puffy, and she even looked tired, if that was possible. "I'm so happy your okay Ness." She said kissing my forehead, and squeezing my hand while Carlisle put something in my IV bag.

"Thank you all for being here...... For..... Me....." Then I fell into a deep sleep.

-Edward POV-

Rosalie and Carlisle exited the room, closing the white door softly.

"She's asleep again." Carlisle said

"Good." Bella said, anxiously walking back and forth.

"Bella you need to relax." Alice said

"Relax? You want me to relax? When there is a monster on the loose?!" Bella snapped back, I put my hands on her shoulders, and massaged them softly.

"I'm sorry Alice, I'm thirsty and believe it or not, tired." She stated, following me to the couch, sitting next to me.

"We need a plan. And fast" Jasper said

"I think time is in our best interest" Esme said, Rosalie and Jasper nodding

"What we just wait for them to attack?" I snarled

"No Edward it makes sense.." Bella said "We have Ness and Jake's wedding we should be planning, let's just all relax, for all we know it could be a trick, we will be prepared, but we can't get too ahead of ourselves." Bella finished.

"I agree." Rosalie added

"I do too, it may be a strategy to lay low." Carlisle said

"We don't know where they are, we need a solid plan, and to stay beneath the shadow is going to help."

I nodded. We were going to wait. I don't know if it is a mistake or a good thing. I guess we will find out
