afters

you
radiate so much warmth
as i came closer,
wrapped my arms around your neck
and pulled you in,
kissed you hard,
let your tongue slide in,
eyes closed,
emotions came
pouring in,
i can still
clearly remember
the softness of your hand
and how warm it feels
against my skin
like it was yesterday,
you tell me you didn't like how you smelled that day,
so i came closer to you,
leaned in to get a whiff
of your scent i will never get tired of smelling,
laughed off your statement,
and told you how much i loved your smell,

the after
is always tiring
and you're sweating profusely,
and with a small smile,
i wiped the sweat from your face,
kissed your forehead,
and you wrapped your arms around me,
as you buried your face in my neck,
i mentally prepare myself
for the day when all of this will end.
(i will never be).
